24: Introduce yourself to the readers and let them know where your representing?

Cyhi Da Prynce: I’m representing Decatur, GA. Not to far from Atlanta but you know I’m straight from the “East Side”. Konvict/Def Jam/G.O.O.D. Music and a lot of people know me through Akon and Kanye. Right now I’m just putting out good music and finishing up this mixture I have coming out called “Royal Flush“.

24: Who were some of your musical influences growing up?

Cyhi Da Prynce: I had a few different musical influences growing up to be all the way honest. I’m kind of diverse. My favorite was always Jay-Z of course but that was at an early stage and I was also influenced by Three6Mafia, UGK, Pastor Troy and T.I. but then as I got older and started to explore music I got into DMX, MOP, Nas, Scarface and other artist like that. Also I didn’t really grown up on rap because I grow up in a strict house.

24: A lot of the readers may not know this but you have been buzzing for a while in Atlanta with your mixture you and DJ Greg Street did even before Kanye West spotted you on the remix with YelaWolf for “I Wish” and placed your mixtape with DJ Greg Street on his Blog which lead him to flying you over to Hawaii to meet with him. At that time you already had a record deal and was signed to CKP/Konvict Music/Def Jam so take me and the readers back for a minute and let us know how you first got your big break in the music industry?

Cyhi Da Prynce: Well, I was actually signed to a group called HoodLum that was going through Jazze Pha label Shonuff Records/Def Jam and even though things wasn’t working out with the group I got to make a a lot of good relationships and take advantage of that. So once I started doing my own solo thing I linked up with Bu Thiam(Vice President Of A&R at Def Jam & Co-CEO Of Konvict Music and Akon’s brother for those of you who may not know). I brought him some music and told him how passionate I was about it and we just linked up and he loved the music. A year after that I re-signed to Def Jam, well back at Def Jam I just revisited. Everyone at Def Jam was familiar with me already from being in the group HoodLum so we ended up working out a deal. After that I was just building up my catalog because I really didn’t have a lot of songs. I had about 20 songs when I first got signed to Konvict. So I had to build my catalogue up because a lot of my songs was group songs. so that’s what kind of took me a little than some people might have expected. Then after that I jumped on the YelaWolf song which was definitely a highlight of my career! Me and YelaWolf started doing shows together through a mutual friend of ours, shout out to KP, Bearload, J Dot. I knew those guys and they asked me and Pill to jump on the remix for “I Wish“. We were like the up and c owing guys out of Atlanta. I did my verse and I felt like I did my thing. We did the video and once it came out on WorldStarHipHop and all of the other websites and Blogs everyone was asking who’s this dude in the second verse. “I’m like my verse that hard?“(lol). So how it got to Kanye West Blog and he expressed his liking towards what I was doing and my music. Since then it has been a great carpet ride for me.

24:  So tell me about the experience of meeting up with Kanye and working with him?

Cyhi Da Prynce: He invited me to Hawaii so I jumped onto the first thing smoking. I met him down their and we just clicked. We had the same vibe, we had the same goals and same views. I was on my “Prince” shit and he was on his “King” shit. We started going over things and chopping it up about different marketing plans and he was teaching me a lot about the music game as well. He actually knew the lyrics to my songs which was also another highlight for me. I was like damn, one of the greats actually knows and likes my music.

24: For your first huge record to be “So Appalled” featuring Music’s Biggest names such as RZA, Swizz Beatz, Jay-Z, Pusha-T, Kanye West and of course yourself did you feel any pressure going into writing your verse?

Cyhi Da Prynce: You know what, I didn’t because I was so excited to write I know my shit was going to be dope. I wasn’t trying to be arrogant but but these are my idols and for them to even invite me to the sessions I was excited then. An for them to say get on the song, I had already proved to them that I was worthy of being on the song. I still can’t believe people’s reaction to my veers still to this day.

24: Okay, speaking of your verse what was your thinking process behind your slick lines where you decided to use the months?

Cyhi Da Prynce: My thinking process behind that is just that I got a lot of hoes(lol). I don’t mean to be rude but you know a young guy like me I know a girl name April and she just chose to March. It was just a clever way of thinking.

24: For your “Royal Flush” mixtape who are some of the producers you have been working with?

Cyhi Da Prynce: I have J.U.S.T.I.C.E.League on their my guy Actual, CKP, I got M16, C-Note a lot of guys around here that I have been wanting to display their music because they have a lot of talent. Sometimes in Atlanta we get caught up in the 808’s so I wanted to display the other side as well, I have DJ Toomp on here too. It’s a beautiful display of my talent on this coming mixture “Royal Flush“.

24: Outside of your mixture “Royal Flush” what should the readers be on the look out for you with 2010 coming to a close and 2011 approaching?

Cyhi Da Prynce: Aww, Man they should except to hear a lot coming form me. I’m working on my next mixture coming out through Kanye West G.O.O.D. Music it’s called “A Beautiful Mind” and working on my album as well which will be coming real soon.  We are going to finish the year real strong and then drop that nuclear bomb on them!

24: What’s the best way for the readers to keep up to date with everything your doing?

Cyhi Da Prynce: Right now you can catch me on the usual websites and social networks such as Twitter. It’s @CyhiDaPrynce and Cyhi Da Prynce on Facebook, Google(lol)everything.

24: Any final thoughts for the readers?
