24- First and foremost thank you for taking the time to speak with us for this exclusive interview -Since your start as a member of Platinum Recording Group “Crime Mob” you have always been a spark and a female rap artist’s that has been one to reckoned with even at the early age of 14 when you first signed with Lil Jon’s Label Crunk Records. Tell a Lil bit about how you have transitions as an MC over the years and how you feel about your early success with your former group “Crime Mob”?

I’d like to think as an MC I’m constantly evolving. Who I am at my core will always be the same, but my perception on issues, and life in general will constantly change as I experience more.  My early success with Crime Mob definitely played a major role in laying the foundation for my career. It allowed me to become more comfortable in my unique sound, and the fact there were people who wanted to hear what I had to say and could relate. The confidence that I have on stage, in the studio, and within myself is directly related to that experience.

24-Your mix tape series which dropped shortly after leaving “Crime Mob” and going solo was a huge success tell me about that situation and how the mixtape scene has helped your career thus far in your music career?

The Bitch Muzik Mixtape Series was important to keeping my fans engaged while I was working on my debut solo project. It also gave me an opportunity to showcase Diamond the solo artist, and I was blessed that it was received very well.  Mixtapes are great promotional tools, and creative outlets for artist. They provide the space where artist have total control to simply just be. If properly done they can generate a healthy buzz, and keep you in the public eye during the gaps between commercial releases.

24-You were recently featured on Dorrough’s Get Big Remix alongside Diddy, Bun B and Wiz Khalifa how did it feel to be the only female representing on that song and with such talented artist such as Bun B and New Comer Wiz Khalifa?

Being on the “Get Big” record was definitely a great look! The original record was already a hit, and when my brother Dorrough allowed me to join his allstar line-up for the remix I was honored. Any opportunity where I can represent for the ladies I’m all over that!  I recorded my verse in Atlanta, so I didn’t actually get to work with any of the other features until we shot the video. It was fun, and I think we all worked very well together.

24-Tell me about your new video you recently released titled “Lotta Money”  and tell me a bit about the meaning behind “Diamond VS. M.s 32 Flavors”?

The Lotta Money video was a fun project! I shot the video with director veteran Dr.Teeth in Atlanta. I played the dual role in the piece to show both sides of women hustling. Diamond was the hard worker grinding at work to have her own, while Ms. 32 Flavaz was the chic that everyone knows who break men for a living. It wasn’t throwing shade at either side, but showcasing them in a fun way. The main point of the song is that no matter which chick you’re with, the men need to bring it!

24- Do you currently have a single out and when can the fans expect your new album?

The next single that the fans seem to want is Hit Dat Hoe (feat Waka Flacka).  This single is like a flash back to my Crime Mob days, and the street gritty sound that fans know me for.  I’m actually still recording for my album, fans can anticipate a project from me in Summer 2011 if things continue to go according to plan.  I just want to ensure that I’m giving them my best.

24- What do you feel separates you from other female rappers out today?

I think that each female rapper out now is very unique in their own right, offering fans a variety to chose from. Personally I feel that I’m a gritty sound than the others, but I still have the capability to show a sexy and vulnerable side when the occasion calls for it.

24- Tell a bit about your current label situation are you currently signed?
Currently I’m signed to Battery/Jive Records, and its definitely a good fit for me. The offer me the freedom to be me, and strong outlet channels to get my music to the masses.  Above all else, they believe in both me and my brand.

24- Besides music has there been any other  business ventures you’ve been working on planing to dabble in?

Acting, and fashion are both on my list for the very near future.

24 -How is your current relationship with the other ”Crime Mob” members do you still stay in touch with any of them how about Lil Jon?

My relationship w/the other members is good. We’ve taken a couple of dates together, and they even came out to support me at the Lotta Money video shoot.

24- What’s next for Ms Diamond?

Promotion, shows, and more recording is all that my life consists of these days, lol. I’m putting the finishing touches on my next mixtape project Cocaine Waitress, and fan can expect that before the end of the 4th quarter.
