24: Introduce yourself again for
the cats that might have missed out on the first interview.

Drumma Boy: Ya Boy Drumma! Drum
Squad representing Memphis man. Currently working out of ATL, MIA, NY, and LA. We
on the grind making that good music.  I’m
always on the grind making that quality five star shit.

24: Just give us a quick run down
of some people you’ve worked with.

Drumma Boy: Young Jezzy
(‘Standing Ovation,’ ‘White Girl’), Rocko (‘Umma Do Me’), Plies (‘Shawty’), TI,
Paul Wall (‘Gimmie Dat’), Rick Ross, Monica, Pastor Troy, Gangsta Boo, E-40,
and the list goes on and on.

24: So what do you have new going
on with the Drum Squad?

Drumma Boy: We have three artist
currently signed to Drum Squad. We have Gangsta Boo, a legendary rapper out of
Memphis, Kristyle, a young dude out of Memphis, and we have Allie out of New
Orleans.  Allie’s new single is called “Yay,”
Gangsta Boo’s new single is called “Necessary,” and Kristyle has a new single
in the street called “My Swag.”
Everybody on the roster has something poppin in the streets.  Kristyle is the little young cat did a
“Gangsta Grillz,” Gangsta Boo did her mixtape with DJ Smallz “Southern Smoke,” that’s
in the streets.  We just working hard man.
My album coming real soon, once I get everything with the squad poppin.

24: So what other projects have
you worked on?

Drumma Boy: We’re on the Playaz
Circle album, the Gorilla Zoe album, Young Joc, the Boyz N Da Hood Album, the
USDA album, the Plies album, Pastor Troy album, Paul Wall album, Scarface’s
project that came out last year with the single ” Never.” Those were all ’07
projects.

24: ’07 was a big year for your
camp so I know ’08 is going to be bigger and better.

Drumma Boy:  Oh yeah, it’s going to be curtains. We trying
to get on some top projects and actually take some projects over.  We got the Rocko album coming, TIP album
coming, Rick Ross album coming, Plies album coming, and Monica album coming,
and many more. It’s going to be crazy.

24: What gives you that
inspiration to make a hot track?

Drumma Boy:  The love for the music itself gives you that
inspiration.  Just knowing that you can
be apart of the change in hip hop is my inspiration.

24:  Everybody has their own opinion on the state
of hip hop what do you think of it?

Drumma Boy:  Some niggas say “hip hop is dead” some say
“it’s alive.” Whatever, but as long as you in the game, and you have both feet
dipped in the game you can make a change you can make an impact.   Staying
in a position to make them changes and being a nigga who can make a difference
instead of being one that’s sitting and watching will help the state of hip
hop.

24: Out of all the artists out
right now, who are some you really would like to work with?

Drumma Boy:  I have to say that boy Jay-Z, Beyonce, Bilal,
Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef. All of them cats I want get it with.

24:  I know you said “Standing Ovation” is a track
that made you proud the most, but what would be your number two?

Drumma Boy:  That ‘Umma Do Me’ just for that shit to go
how it went and to be as big as it is, and just to see where it’s going
to.  Plus with all the relationships that
were made just cause of that one record is just crazy.  That’s like that next anthem, like the motto
for 2008.  It’s already 100,000 people
claiming that’s there motto for 08 “Umma Do Me.”   Stick to what you do. It’s too many niggas
imitating and mocking and trying to copy, you can’t do me nigga, do you.  That within itself is already a message to
the world you know.

24: What made you want to be
producer?

Drumma Boy:  My older brother was already making beats and
I was messing with Slice T, a legendary producer out of Memphis, Jazze Pha all
them cats was older and been making beats, my older brother Insane Wayne.  Those niggas was doing they thing when I was
a young nigga and I saw them cats doing their thing and just started doing my
thing, my young next generation type of shit, and just started getting
money.  Next thing you know we started
getting more and more money.  Music is
something I always was doing it’s just something I took and ran with and put my
little spin on it.

24: What advice would you give to
up and coming producers?

Drumma Boy:  You need to have patience you have to hold it
down that money might not be always coming in heavily.  That’s the one thing about our industry you
got your drought periods in any game there’s a drought, and you have to know
how to withstand that drought and keep things cracking, still be able to
fulfill your movement.  You can’t be out
there burning any bridges and doing stupid things.  You have to brand yourself, so when anyone
hears your name they know what comes with that.
You have to be a hustler, be versatile well rounded and good
spirited.  I live, sleep, and eat
this.

24:  What’s the best way for artists trying to do
business to get in contact with you?

Drumma Boy:  Intersound Management- (404)803-3615 and ask
for Squeak and we can just chop it up.

24:  Any shout outs?

Drumma Boy:  I wanna shout out Memphis, the A town,
H-town.   R.I.P Pimp C special shout out
to RAP-A-LOT. The whole Drum Squad and shit, we getting this money.
