24: First off, I know you guy’s just had one of the biggest
parties this year in Miami
at Sobe Live, so tell how that turned out?

Gunplay: That shit was bigger then I expected it to be! We
don’t have any songs on the radio, no spins; no shout outs on the radio,
nothing. The only thing we did for the radio was give them a commercial for the
party but the hood know that we the shit, that we the main course and everybody
else is the appetizer, they all know that. So when they heard that shit on the
radio, believe all the killers, shooters, dope boys, all of the women getting
money, the broke women, and crack heads everyone came out to show love. It was
a big look and we held it down without Ross being there, so it was even a
bigger look! We held it down proper!

24: What do you think this Triple C’s album is going to
bring to the music world?

Gunplay:  The Triple
C’s album is going to bring versatility, you know what I’m saying. It’s not
going to bring a one way street you know murder, kill, bang, bang! It’s going
to explore all different sides of the game and life in general. Some songs will
be about the killing and murders which does go on in the hood and some songs
are going to talk about getting it and there are some that’s going to speak
about the broke side of life when your down and out.

24: So far from some of the records you recorded, which
record do you feel is the one that you like the most if you had to choose just
one?

Gunplay: Right now I would have to go with a record that we
did with Sean Kingston where he is on the hook. It’s called “Real D-Boy” and
it’s basically talking about the little man becoming the big fish. Ross gave his
point of view, Torch did his and I gave mine and it’s not a record about
killing, it’s about coming from nothing. It features Sean Kingston and I think
the radio would love it if ever they wanted to look our direction they’ll love
this record straight up! It sounds like a radio record but it has substance to
it.

24: I know in every group each person plays a role and
brings their own style and flavor, so tell me what does Gunplay bring to Triple
C’s?

Gunplay: I bring that care free I don’t give a fuck
attitude. You can never tell what I might do at a show. I bring that goonie
shit man, they be telling me to calm down. I bring that drive, I bring that
let’s go get it and if we can’t get it let’s take it!  That’s what I bring to the table because I’m
not to good with all the politics side of things, because I’ll slap the shit
out of a nigga with all of that politics bullshit. So I let them handle that.
Everyone has their thing and politics and politicking is not my thing because
I’ll rather slap the shit out of you then you’ll get the point, you know what
I’m saying.

24: Let’s talk about your solo project “Kill Switch.” What
should the fans except from to hear from you on that album?

Gunplay: Just know when my solo shit drop I’m going to have
every killer in the city shooting up in the air and killing clouds for no
reason, because my shit got them that hype. I love to make records with substance
but on my solo shit is going to be that shit you put on when you just feel like
jumping in your car and you drunk as fuck and you feeling like wilding on the
beach or pull your window down and grill a mother fucker your going to play
that Gunplay shit. Then I’m going to have songs on there for my babies, because
I love my cash registers, I mean my women because I love my ladies. Along with
the nothing to something point of view and I be mad at that and everyone that
don’t have anything is mad at that too so they will feel those songs 100%. I’m
going to put that fire up under they ass from the club to the streets because I
have that club shit also I have a record called “My Diamonds Keep Dancing” and
you can look at it as my babies, my dimes or my women or my diamonds they both
dancing like a mother fucker.

24: When it comes to your solo project what type of sound
are you looking for because I am sure all of my up and coming producers reading
this interview would love to know?

Gunplay: Left field, I want left field beats I want
something that sounds almost weird to people at first. If you pay attention to
all of the Triple C beats there are not your average sounding beats and we get
them from all different types of producers. Also it needs to be up-tempo
because this is the city of cocaine and everyone be on that and like shit fast,
from driving to dancing and living so definitely up-tempo beats.

24: Does it matter to you who did the production or do you
just want the best beat available?

Gunplay: I don’t care who do the beats because there is a
lot of producers out here with a name and I would not freestyle to they shit
the shit so wack.

24: I recently interviewed Torch and he talked about how he
and Ross got together so I am sure the people would like to know how Gunplay
hooked up with Ross also?

Gunplay: We’ll basically Ross raised me from when I was a
kid. My father and my mother split up when I was real young so I grew up with
my mother and I didn’t really have that father figure my life and he stepped
up. When I was about 13 he saw potentional in a nigga, I was young but I was
sharp and just needed a little molding & guidance and basically he put me
under his wing. He showed me the ropes and from then on I took off by myself
from then on. Once I learned the streets, I learned the game. I’m just
transitioning from in the streets to industry even after being on the road with
Ross for a year and going around the world my mind was still in Carol City.

24: Outside of music is their anything you have a passion
for?

Gunplay: Yeah man. I love women so what I want to do is
start an escort service called “Apples & Onions” and don’t try to take the
name either I already got the copyright for the name. It’s going to be exotic
adult entertainment for the music entertainers so we’ll have a staff of about
24 girls I’m trying to start off with. From Black, Spanish, Asian, White, etc.

24: What are some of the things people should be on the look
out for from you and Triple C’s and is their any last words you want to say to
the readers?

Gunplay: We coming and were hitting them hard and not
letting up, we have shit for everyone and because we been shit on for so long,
that when things take off, we’re going to over charge niggaz for what they did
to the Cold Crush!
