24: Let’s get straight into it. A couple months ago, you released a diss song towards your former Boyz N Da Hood group member, Young Jeezy stemming from a situation that happened between the both of you a while back. What is the current status of the relationship between you and him? Has the beef been squashed? Or is it ongoing?
Me personally, I ain’t squashin’ shit. I’m not worrying about all that. I did that and said what I had to say. That was just some G-check shit. That was just some shit to let niggaz know. That had nothing to do with no promotional shit. Some people took it how they wanted to take it but me personally, that ain’t my problem. I did that for specific reasons. It is what it is wit me. I just wanted to say that and get it over wit and that’s just what it was. He know what’s up. To everybody that know what’s up, that’s all I’m concerned with. All this ol’ industry shit, and all that blog shit, they can say what they wanna say but this is some real nigga shit that needed to be said.

24: In an online video, 211, an artist on Jeezy’s CTE imprint, spoke on the song “CTE 4 Life” where he took shots at you making claims that you are “false flagging”. How do you feel about that?
Who is he?

24: He’s an artist signed to CTE.
Once again who is he? He get’s nothing from me. I don’t even know that guy. He doesn’t know nothin’ about me. Your just signed to a nigga. You know nothing about me. It’s that simple. Tell them niggaz to do some real research. I don’t know what’s the situation with all these “gangbangin” right now or what these niggaz do. I ain’t got nothing to prove. All I got to say is that dat nigga knows nothing about me. I can understand that he’s CTE and you suppose to ride wit ya boss but that shit ain’t real nigga.

24: Can you tell us about the “Deuces” Remix video you just recently released with upcoming R&B singer Jacquees and how the song came about?
We actually working on a mixtape called “Big Bruh, Lil Bruh”. He just signed to Interscope. Jimmy Iovine just signed him and he thought it would be real big so I’m just tryna put him up under my wing and give him little insights on the game before he do what he doin. We dropped another song called “Leggoo”. We shot a video for it two weeks ago and that should be out within another week or so.

24: Speaking of label situations, what is your current label situation? I remember you use to be signed to Jazze Pha’s Sho’ Nuff Records imprint but that deal didn’t work out. Are you still signed under Block Entertainment? Bad Boy South or another venture?
I started my own label; Young Gunna Records. Just to clear things up, I’ve never been signed to Block as a solo artist. Boyz N Da Hood was signed to Block Entertainment. I was signed to Sho’Nuff/Warner Bros. It was like tug-o-war. At that time, I was doing so much and shit was moving so fast, it was a lot of conflicts in interest so that’s what pretty much happen to those deals so I had to do what I had to do and it is what it is.

24: Are there any other artists signed to Young Gunna Records?
No. I signed myself. That was the whole purpose of starting the label. It’s an independent label with distribution through 101 distribution. I have publishing deals. I just got my own thing goin right now. I’m starting from ground up because I still have a name. I still have a loyal fan base. I’m not somebody you just “put on”. I’m not “extra” man. I just do what I do and be done wit it but I have a loyal fan base and they been wit me since day one so I gotta do this for them. If it wasn’t for them I woulda been left out the game.

24: Off the subject of music real quick. How do you feel about LeBron James taking his talents to play for the Miami Heat?
He’s a grown man! (laughs) It’s not bad. Them niggaz deep now! It’s all about entertainment and entertaining the fans and that’s entertaining. Everybody wanna get all salty. I just can’t understand why everybody wanna get all salty about business that don’t even concern them. If he wanna go to Miami, he in Miami and that’s what it is so let’s go Miami but I’m a L.A. [Lakers] fan so I don’t really care.

24: What’s the next Jody Breeze project that’s coming out?
The next project coming out is “Welcome TO The Future Part II” which comes out in September. While I’m pushing these CD’s, I’m working on an album right now.

24: Who are some of the artists we can expect to see featured on the mixtape?
I don’t know really. I got songs with everybody so I don’t know which songs I’m going to put on the mixtape because I’m really trying to do all me, I ain’t really trippin’ on features.

24: The last time you were in the public eye as a solo artist, was when “Stay Fresh” came out. How do you plan to do things differently this time around compared to when you first debuted?

The only that’ll be different now is that I know more. I just know a whole lot more about the game. It’s all about your grind and just believing in your projects so right now I’m just in grind mode, doing whatever I got to do, however I got to do it and that’s just what it is.

24: Can you give us an estimation of when your album will be out?
Hopefully by the top of next year, first quarter. The rap game is so crazy right now, you never know. I could put out a song tomorrow and drop an album two months from now. You never know. It’s just grindin’.

24: Are you still working with Jazze Pha?
Yea I still work with Jazze. We still talk on a regular. I still talk to everybody.

24: Is there going to be another Boyz N Da Hood album?
Not with me in it.

24: How do you feel about the current state of the rap game in general?
Ground zero. Shit is garbage. I can honestly say that. It has taken a total 360 spin. It’s not based off music no more. This shit used to be based off real music, hip-hop, real shit. Right now you can pretty much get away with anything and that’s not what’s up to me in my opinion. That’s not music. Especially not hip-hop. Muthafuckaz think just because they can make some money off a song their hip-hop but it’s not hip-hop. It’s just some shit.

How would the fans go about contacting you?
They can get at twitter @JodyBreeze_ygr, Facebook.com/iamjodybreeze but pretty much just see me out, doin’ my thang.

Thank you for providing 24hourhiphop.com with this exclusive interview, do you have any last words for your present and future fans?
I just wanna say I appreciate all my fans that’s been ridin’ out wit me forever because I really have some loyal fans and their the reason I’m still doing this but I just wanna let people know stop being so quick to be judgmental. If you don’t know what your talking about, keep it to yourself. It’ll make the world a whole lot better because it’s too much fake shit going on and it’s so faking going on, they [the people] don’t know what’s real so I want everybody to know what’s real and stop talkin’ so much, listen and read between the lines. It’s too much real for this fake shit to be going on.
