24: The last time we
spoke is when “Umma Do Me” was just starting to take off and the
video wasn’t even out yet so looking back now did you think everything was
going to turn out like this?

Rocko: No, but I knew the hustle had to pay off. I put out
that record on my own with no label backing. I moved independently with my team
and fed the streets a banger. When you do those two things I think only good
can come out of that. I ran my own label before becoming an artist myself so I
learned a lot from that. I thank everyone and every DJ who played that record I
truly do.

24: You got your
second single out “Tomorrow” and the video to go all with that so
tell me the response you have been getting from that?

Rocko: It’s ridiculous to tell you the truth. We couldn’t
even decide which single it would be between “Tomorrow” and “Dis
Morning”. “Tomorrow won out but the buzz made us have to do a short
spot for “Dis Morning”. I need y’all help on them count downs too.
Shout out to Drumma Boy who produced that record as well and Marvelous J who
did “Dis Morning”.

24: I know a lot of
people that personally still want a separate video for “Dis Morning”
even though you gave a little taste in the “Tomorrow” video so will
you do a little street video if nothing else for “This Morning” for
the streets in the near future?

Rocko: I think I can do that for the streets because that’s
who really keep asking for it and you got to give the people what they want. JD,
hope you listening they saying they want that street video (lol).

24: Speaking about
the near future your coming with a new mixtape called “Swag School”
so tell me more about the whole concept and what should the people expect from
it when it comes out?

Rocko: I feel like a lot of people need to brought to class
with their swagger. Not too many artist are looking good right now so I decide
to do them a favor and start a “Swag School”. Who better else then
me, when every time swagger comes up you hear my name. So I’m just deciding to
build off of that whole concept. If you messed with me on “Swag
Season” then you gone mess with me on “Swag School”!

24: Are you looking
for a summer time release for the mixtape?

Rocko: I’m thinking about dropping it real soon maybe in
June. I don’t think I will even wait till the summer. I got to get them now,
feel me.

24: Will “Swag
School” also highlight some of the artist from your label Rocky Road
Records?

Rocko: For sure but at the same time I know I have to sell me
myself before I sell my brand completely. People are still getting to know
Rocko as an artist so I can’t just open too many doors at once.

24: Your also working
on your next album so is there anything you didn’t do on the first that you
will do on this one because I saw you on MTV and you where talking about doing
ore songs for the ladies to rock to?

Rocko: I felt like I didn’t get the ladies too involved on
my last album even though the ladies supported every record I put out to date
so far. I think going into this album I just will make sure I give them a
little more as well as the streets. Give them the best of both worlds.

24: For those readers
who are trying to get their swagger up to part this summer give them a few
pointers?

Rocko: First off you got to get them jeans right, that’s an
must to go along with the right kicks. Next you need a nice pair of shades and
if you got a chain your good with a simple V-Neck. That’s if you ain’t got that
Gucci and Louis budget as yet. Your hustle defines your swag too man, your swag
is only as good as your hustle!

24: What else should
everyone be tuned into this summer coming from yourself and Rocky Road Records?

Rocko: The mixtape man, “Swag School” coming soon
yall. Class in session!

24: A lot of our
readers will be in Miami for Memorial Weekend so should they expect to see you
out there?

Rocko: I’ll be on the road now man, so look out for me in
every state and every hood.  Shout out to the whole Miami/Florida scene
they show me love every time out too. So you will definitely see me out there
on the strip and at the clubs.
