24: Did you think that your first single “Dey Know” would get the type of response that it did?

 

Shawty Lo: I didn’t even want to do that song I got back from the club and they was telling me to write to that beat and when I did I just wasn’t feeling it. Everyone else was feeling it and even when it was done I thought I had other songs that was better.

 

24: When I first heard it the whole song gave a feeling and usually when that happens it’s a banger?

 

Shawty Lo: It’s crazy because people started making their own remixes and shit before I could do one.

 

24: On your song “Dunn Dunn” it sounds like you felt people from BankHead was forgetting to mention you when they mention BankHead?

 

Shawty Lo: Yeah, it’s that simple and clear! If you mention BankHead and don’t say my name then goddamn they must be 2 sides!

 

24: I was in Atlanta during the Tornado and all the radio was playing was “Dunn Dunn” to the streets and the strip clubs?

 

Shawty Lo: It feels good to get the love from your home not like these other niggas that get more love outta state or in London or some shit where they aint from.

 

24: Recently rumors have been going around about you having AIDS do you want to comment on that?

 

Shawty Lo: I don’t know where that comes from bra; I have Diabetes that comes with the up days and down days.

Shawty Lo: That street shit, I gave them “Dey Know” got the remix out. The video for “Dunn Dunn” is out now and “Foolish” coming the people loving that single so I had to do a double video. If they aint mention me before they gone mention me now!
