24: First off, Congratulations on the release of your second
album. How was the experience making this second album different from making
the first?

Trey Songz: It wasn’t really too much different. It was the
same process. The first was more of an introduction and the second one was
getting more familiar with me. This album alone is sexier. The first album we
touched on a lot of different topics like relationships, family, sexual and
other types of stuff. This album is just sexier, some more edge and a little
more mature.

24: I was listening to the album and I heard you got Bun B
for the intro. How did you hook that up?

Trey Songz: On the Bun B album ‘Trill’ I actually produced a
track on his album and he hollered at me and asked me if I needed anything and
I told him just hook me up on the album and he did the intro. It was like a
co-sign. It was authentic. I had never heard that on an R&B album before.

24: I noticed that you spit some bars at the beginning of a
few songs before you started singing. What made you want to go the R&B
route instead of being a rapper?

Trey Songz: Singing got me signed. That was what I was found
for. My mentor, Bishop Troy Taylor, he had an R&B market and it was
something that I played with and when I started taking singing more seriously,
it took me in another direction.

24: What separates you from other R&B artist?

Trey Songz: I do me and they do them. I feel like I’m
accepted a little more in the hip hop world than a lot of other R&B artist.
Other than that, I just stay on my grind. I don’t think much of other R&B
artist and I hope they don’t think too much of me.

24: Are you going to be going on tour to support your new
album?

Trey Songz: I’m going to be going overseas to handle stuff
over there and once I get back I got some stuff lined up.

24: Do you see yourself eventually getting into acting and
doing movies like other artist?

Trey Songz: Yes most definitely it’s something in my future.
I want to make sure my musical foundation is set first before I start off into
other avenues. It’s definitely something I see in the future.

24: Do you have other business ventures outside of music?

Trey Songz: Yes I have some things poppin off. I do things
that don’t relate to music and I don’t mention them in interviews because it’s
not about that. Anything else I’m making money with, that’s what I’m doing.

24: Who has inspired you musically?

Trey Songz: I’m really inspired by R. Kelly. Other than
that, my boy Troy
introduced me to a lot of other things and people like Marvin Gaye, Isley
Brothers, Prince and Luther Vandross.

24: Is there anyone out there that you haven’t worked with
that you would like to work with?

Trey Songz:  I respect
a lot of people in this game and I would love to work with a lot of people in
the game. The list is extensive. I want to work with Weezy, Timbaland, Jeezy,
Pharell, whoever.

24: Is there anything else you want to promote.

Trey Songz: Trey Day in stores right now.

24: How can fans get in contact with you?
