24: I wanted to start this interview off from the started and clear up a few things because I recently saw you on BET and you were explaining exactly what label your signed to because I know a lot of people is not heavy into music outside of listening to the music think your signed to Cash Money?

Yo Gotti: Yeah, I was never signed to Cash Money.  I have a production deal with Cash Money where I have an artist that’s signed to Cash Money/Universal and for my label status I’m signed to Polo Grounds/J Records.

24: After you left TVT Records it seem as though your fan base was there but it wasn’t national. It was more so heavy in the south but now your being embraced by everyone from state to state city to city. An it seems as though with your album coming soon it’s perfect timing because I just picked up the Clipse album and your on it, your also on the Triple C’s album I picked up a few months ago as well. It’s almost safe to say it’s “Gotti’s World” your single “5 Star Chick” is being bumped every where and people are relating to Yo Gotti now on a level whether you have an album out or not, there relating to you as a person period?

Yo Gotti: That’s exactly where we are trying to go with it, where trying to be more than music. I think that’s the difference that separates most artist because when there song is gone or played out so are they because people don’t fuck with them.

24: Tell me how your single “5 Star Chick” came about?

Yo Gotti: I’m a street dude so I like nice cars, big houses, fast money and I need a bad bitch so I need a  “5 Star Chick”. She’s like a trophy for a street nigga!

24: Who did the production for that record?

Yo Gotti: Hotrod, he’s one of the producers that’s signed to my company.

24: Tell me how the remix came about because that took the record to a whole another place adding Trina, Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj on it?

Yo Gotti: I think it just made more sense like that. Having me and Gucci and Trini & Nicki Minaj and Lil Boosie too.

24: What should the readers expect from the album and who are some of the people you worked with on the album?

Yo Gotti: Right now, just Rick Ross and Lil Wayne. Outside of that a whole bunch of producers such as Justice L.E.A.G.U.E., Cool & Dre, Jim Jonsin to name a few and my own production team.

24: I see, so your making sure it’s not too many features just yourself and great production. Speaking of Lil Wayne he’s featured on your single “Men Lie, Women Lie” tell me how the idea of the song come about because I’m sure Jay-Z wish he would of came up with that before you(lol)?

Yo Gotti: Lol, he would of had to think about it a year before I did because that’s how old the song actually is. I did the song about the week before the All-Star game last year in Phoenix. I did the record and sent it to my label and it leaked off of my gmail account about 8 months ago, so the record been out but it did not have Wayne on it. I got Wayne on the record during the summer, sent it in and it leaked again. Just so happened the label put it out now.

24: Should the streets expect a video for that?

Yo Gotti: Where running with it, so we should be doing a video definitely.

24: Year from now when it’s all said and done what do you want to the fans to say Yo Gotti brought to the music world?

Yo Gotti: Realness, and that I was a dude that stood for something. It wasn’t just about what the record label wanted or money.

24: What should the readers be on the look out from you and your label in 2010?

Yo Gotti: Right now the focus is on Branding our name, bringing that heat and making this shit into a movement.

24: For my final question I have to ask about your jewelry because you always have to fly custom pieces from the Memphis Logo charm to your new Yo Gotti charm. So how did that come about ? Were you watching some old “Yo MTV” or was it your jeweler that hit you up?

Yo Gotti: I actually had a T-Shirts made like that with the “Yo Gotti” on it so thats where it came from. When I buy my pieces I always want it to be different and unique.

24: Any last words you want to say to the readers?

Yo Gotti: Pick up the album “Live From The Kitchen” coming soon, and reach out to me when you see me.
