Dolla Killed For A Girl?

Last night we were all rattled by the news of the shooting death of Konvict Artist Dolla. He had a short life and even shorter career and the shooting left many questions but the main one being of course what happened that led to him being shot in the head at the Beverly Hills Shopping Center and rushed to the hospital where he passed.

Well now some more info is coming out about the shooting and it looks like the cause of the shooting was over a woman! Dolla’s publicist Sue Vannasing spoke to the press and vaguely stated what she knows. Apparently Dolla arrived at LAX to do some recording for his album in L.A. but before he left the airport he got into an altercation with some still unknown men.

“They followed him to the mall because they knew he was coming,” Vannasing said. Los Angeles police officials could not immediately confirm or deny that account.

What I am hearing is that the men who shot Dolla somehow knew the girl he was with and didn’t take kindly to him being with her. This is what led to the airport scuffle and ultimately to his death. I must say this has to be the dumbest reason to ever kill someone so I hope it isn’t true.

In any case, for whatever reason, another young talented man is gone so please keep his family and friends in your prayers.

Russell Simmons Sues Def Jam?

This is one I didn’t see coming at all. We all know Def Jam is the house that Russell Simmons built. He sold some of his shares of the company in the late 90’s but still maintained a presence and everyone knew Def Jam was Russell’s baby. However something has popped up in the Twittersphere that makes it look like everything is not peachy with Russ and the Def Jam building.

“Can’t believe I’m suing Def Jam,” Simmons said on Twitter via his username “UncleRush.” “They are now trying to eat my lunch? Unbelievable bullies. [That is] Unprecedented stupidity on their part.”

Yep. Apparently Def Jam is not playing fair with Russell in some way and he is about to unleash his legal team (which I’m sure is full of ‘300’ style warriors) on the company. He didn’t provide any detail as to what the company was doing to wrong him, but I did some investigating and here’s what I’ve come up with…

The top brass at Def Jam now feel that Russ hasn’t been putting in enough work to still make what he makes off the company. He still holds a certain amount of shares and equity in the company and as a result still eats off every release. So they are trying to cut Russell out of the plan and leave more cake for themselves.

I must admit if I was up there working everyday and never seeing this dude except for him doing yoga on MTV, I might feel a certain way too. But then again if it weren’t for the weird little guy none of this shit would exist anyway. Do you think Def Jam is right for this or should they always honor Russell Rush?

Rihanna Turns To Drugs?

This is one I saw coming from a mile away. High publicity scandal, make up to break up, slightly slipping career…what’s next in this recipe? Drugs of course! That’s right it looks like the latest star to take a trip down no problems alley is none other than the former 09’ Tina Turner herself, Rihanna!

RiRi has kept a pretty clean nose during this whole thing, mainly leaving all the rumors to Ike, I meant Chris. However a recent trip to NYC blew the lid off something apparently her  team has been trying to hide for the past several weeks.

“Rihanna has been experimenting mainly with weed and coke,” an unnamed source close to the singer said.  “Lately though it’s been more just use instead of experimentation.”

To back up this claim several pics of the girl looking all kinds of crazy have surfaced and word I am getting now it that her team is putting a stop to this shit. Keeping a close eye on the girl is their new job and I am hearing that Rihanna is not too pleased about it…

Hey I say let this girl live a little. Who hasn’t wanted to get a little high during some stressful times? But that coke shit…  No way mama, leave that alone.
