Dungeon Family Reunited?
Long before the ATL became the hip hop superstar factory it has grown into today there were just a handful of people putting it down for the A on a national scale. The main leaders of this movement were hands down The Dungeon Family, which if you don’t know your history is the crew that spawned both Outkast and Goodie Mob. At one point both of these groups and a few others were one supergroup but unfortunately due to standard industry guidelines beef arose and they broke up.
Now I am hearing that the whole fam may come back together and do it again. Rico Wade, the founder and leader of Dungeon has been trying to make this happen for years but it has never been heard that it will actually come true until now. The last time these guys did anything together as a full entity was back in 2000. From what I heard the talks have just begun in the group but they are steadily picking up.
This would be crazy. The south needs this right now. I have been waiting on some new ‘Kast for a minute now but this would be a welcome addition as well. All these artists have gone on to do such great things by themselves but together the Dungeon Fam is a force. Think Slaughterhouse with melody and southern funk.
Bubba Sparxxx Gets A Job?
Wow, what happened to this guy? Bubba Sparxxx was once known as one of the south’s premier MC’s. Coming into the game with Timbaland and then joining Outkast under their Purple Ribbon label it was never a question if this guy had talent. However the world isn’t fair and for one reason or another those label situations just didn’t work out for ole Bubba. Now people hit me up frequently with gossip and sightings they have and I usually hold out on these until I can get some kind of confirmation but I have gotten several from different people giving me the same thing.
Apparently things have gotten bad for Bubba and he has given up the rap game completely and now works at a telemarketing agency in his native Athens, GA. A few people who work at this same agency and a few of their people are the ones who hit me and they say everyone there knows Bubba and who he is but most people let him be and treat him normal. They also say that Bubba is a real cool dude and still has a nice crib and a new Escalade but there is no more music money coming in so he had to buckle down and get a regular 9 to 5.
I did a little research just to back this up and from what I see the last thing the world heard from Bubba was a mixtape he dropped back in 07’ titled interestingly enough, Survive Till Ya Thrive. Hey I say so what. Dude got what he could out this shit and moved on. He was a hell of a rapper though, that Deliverance album was a definite classic. Bubba stay on your grind! And pick Ray Cash up along with ya, with his back of a milkcarton ass.
