Queen Latifah, who’s real name is Dana Owens, may lose her status now that she is openly acknowledging that she is gay. Rumor has it that as soon as Proposition 8 was overturned in California, giving gays and lesbians the right to marry, she went outside on the deck of the yacht, which she was aboard with Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz and gave a romantic embrace to longtime girlfriend, trainer Jeanette Jenkins.

Hate to say I told you so but I always knew Queen Latifah was a lesbian ever since she convincingly played one in Set if Off. Some people are saying it may be harder to market Queen Latifah in Hollywood now because in many of her movies and TV shows she played a strong black woman who always fell for the male heartthrob: Will Smith in the “Fresh Prince of Bel Air”; LL Cool J in the movie Last Holiday; and Djimon Hounsou in Beauty Shop. I doubt it will stop Queen Latifah though, I mean the whole lesbian/bi- sexual thing has worked wonders for Nicki Minaj and Amber Rose.

I dont think she will ever lose her status as a  pioneering female rapper. But I dont know how the “Hollywood” people will feel especially because she is the celebrity spokesperson for CoverGirl and Curvation ladies underwear. You saw how fast they took Tiger Woods endorsements after his scandal, I’m just saying.
