Swizz Puts A Ring On Alicia?

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats have been the talk of the industry lately ever since they hooked up late last year. While Swizz is still in the process of divorcing his ex wife Mashonda, it is being widely reported that Swizz has already proposed to Alicia. Check out the reports from Associated Press below:

Alicia Keys had a lot to smile about on her 29th birthday Jan. 25: an engagement ring from her producer beau, Swizz Beatz!

A pal tells UsMagazine.com that Beatz, 31 (who is currently divorcing wife Mashonda), proposed with a 7-carat sparkler right before her big day; the happy couple were photographed strolling on a Hawaii beach the day of the proposal, Jan. 24.

Keys’ rep denies she is engaged, but another friend reveals, “They are currently in Hawaii celebrating the engagement and her birthday. She feels blessed.” Adds the pal: “She is thrilled. She is with the man who has inspired so much of her music and her new album [The Element of Freedom].”

Swizz is equally smitten with Keys. “What we have is so precious,” he gushed to the New York Daily News last year.

If this is true I say congrats to them. And if you don’t got it already, go cop that new Alicia, it is the truth!

Jay-Z Going Too Far With His New Album?

Moving forward and being a pioneer in this game is what Jay-Z is all about. From his business, to his music he has always been a trendsetter. It has been reported recently that Jay is already at work on his next album and producers Swizz Beats and Kanye West of course have already been announced as contributors. Swizz said he is trying to take Jay into new places and create an entirely different sound for hip hop.

However an insider close to Swizzy has let an email out saying that the new stuff he has heard they are working on for Hov’s new album is just plain out weird. According to this young lady they are using more of a techno style and live instruments. The records so far sound nothing like rap songs and she says that Jay has not laid down any vocals so far, an indicator that he also is not feeling it.

I still think it’s WAY too early to start judging this album before we have even heard a single SNIPPET! Who knows if these tracks are complete yet or if their just ideas being kicked around. As the e-mail said, Jay has not recorded any vocals so that leads me to believe the latter. And Swizzy tighten up your camp!

Jeezy Moves To Miami?

This is just a small one I got from a loyal reader down in the 305. He wrote in telling me that he recently bumped into none other than Young Jeezy on  South Beach and Young told him that he is now a permanent resident of Miami. He also said dude was cool as hell and gave autographs and several pics. Peep the e-mail below:

AB wats good homie? Just giving you a quick tip. I was at Jerry’s Famous Diner down here on South Beach last weekend and Jeezy and a few of his people were there. Of course he was being crowded around but he was real cool and taking all the camera phone pics people asked for. When it got to be my turn to take a pic I asked him what he was doing down here and he said “shit man I live down here now.” I always thought Jeezy was A town down till the ground  but either way we’re more than happy to have him here in the MIA.
