Hollywood’s Gone Wild?

I don’t know about you, but isn’t Hollywood starting to look like
a “Girls Gone Wild DVD”? With all these implants and private parts
exposed, I’m beginning to wonder, has Hollywood gone Porn? New
York, New York is looking like she’s really feeling her self
with her new BIG APPLES.

Ciara the New Janet Jackson?

Okay you guys…is it just me, or is Ciara starting to
remind you of the earlier Janet Jackson days? Expecially with
this new video “Promise” she really looks like a newer Janet. Others
have taken notice this comparison as well, and has asked the Grammy Award-Winning
songstress how she feels about being compared to Janet Jackson. Although Ciara
is flattered with what really is a compliment, she is driven to be her “own
artist”.

The only thing I really don’t seem to understand here is her being her
“own artist”. Because from my understanding record labels have almost
everything to do with an artist’s image. From my understanding, they have
more control over how an artist will
portray their image than the artist has in most cases. Ciara tells us that her
being compared to Janet Jackson motivates her to becoming her own artist. But
how do you become “your own artist” if you have all these people
over your head telling you that you have to make this kind of music and look
this kind of way in order to be signed to this label?

When record executives notice that a certain direction is working for an artist,
most likely, they stick to that direction. It just so happens that the same
direction Janet Jackson took back when she was as new to the industry as Ciara
is, could be the same
approach they’re using with Ciara. I mean really, I don’t nothing
wrong with it when they do they for R&B artist. It’s just in Hip Hop
is where I see the problem. Ciara looks good with that Janet Jackson vibe.
