Last night I had the opportunity to attend the Kings of Rap Concert in Miami, FL at the James L. Knight center. Della from “Keeping It Real With Della” hosted the event. The show opened up with 99 Jamz / Poe Boy very own Dj Nasty “Mr. Oh-Oh-Oh” on the turnatables. The crowd was amped by the time the show began.
The opening acts for the show consisted of Breeze DTA, Quest Slick Cash, No Ordinary Cats, and LA Keith. Della had a contest where everyone was allowed to submitt their music and videos to be chosen to open for Ludacris. I honestly think that was a great idea because these artist had the opportunity to perform for an audiance they wouldnt normally get. Some performances were more memorable than others but overall they did a great job.
When Ludacris hit the stage the crowd went wild. I have always heard that Luda is one of the top performers in his genre so I was excited to see. During the show Luda performed all of his current and older hits such as “Move Bitch”, “My Chick Bad”, and “Saturday”. Everything was going well, the whole audiance was singing along— until Luda said ” I wanna take it back to the BET uncut days” and the Dj started playing “P*ssy Poppin” and there was an uproar. Everyone in the audiance was hype and singing along. It is nothing like seeing an artist perform live, it wasn’t as spectacular as I expected but it was over all a great show.
