24: Introduce yourself to the readers and let them know where your from and what was it that made you want to start a Blog?
Mimi: Hey dreamers! My name is Demitra “Mimi” Roche, originally from Seattle, Washington but I’m reaping Miami-Dade County all day(I’ve been here for 16 years)! The primary reason for me starting my blog was my desire to let the world know what I was listening to and watching for. I have a very eclectic taste in music & fashion, so I thought it would be cool to have a tangible place where people could experience that. I also had a desire to showcase the talent and music of local artists. So many of them get their dreams overlooked and Memoirs gives me a place to recognize their craft.
24: With so many people having Blogs now how do you make sure that you separate your Blog from the others?
Mimi: I feel as though Memoirs is more than just a copy/paste blog. While I do often acquire some of my posts from other sources(such as online magazines and other blogs), I try to pride myself on owning all the material posted in some way. As well as having as much original content as possible. For instance the song from an artist that other people may have overlooked on the internet that day or the fashion line that is launching that hasn’t gotten it’s due acclaim. I like to give fellow dreamers a spot to know that they’re appreciated!
24: How long has your Blog Memoirs Of A Jaded Dreamer been up?
Mimi: Memoirs has been up for a little over a year now. It began as Mimiluvzu2.blogspot.com but Blogger deleted it for posting “Unauthorized Material”(I had a couple album leaks on there). After that I decided to make it official with my own URLs MEMOIRSOFAJADEDDREAMER.NET and MOJD.NET.
24: Outside of your Blog is their any other Blogs that you love to check out?
Mimi: I definitely check out the a number of different blogsites daily such as iBlog126, 2DopeBoyz, Hip Hop Gossip by Randa, Fakeshore Drive, Steal the Scene, TheyBF, Bossip and a host of others all my favorites are on my blogroll on the site). I love the fact that there are so many sites that I can visit and be inspired by truly. I also run the blog for the company that I’m working for Fly or Die Music/Valholla Entertainment at ValholllaIsTheFuture.com . So I definitely take ideas from Memoirs and apply them to my work there.
24: I know that you have a mixtape coming soon called “We Are The Street Dream Vol.1” Hosted By NAK and Mixed By DJ Lucky C so tell the readers a little more about that?
Mimi: Yes! I’m really excited about it too. Sean of B2 Ent. reached out to me a couple months ago and asked me if it would be okay to have Nak Host a mixtape for the site. I was honestly honored and of course I said yes, especially because I’ve known those two since middle school. I did however think that a mixtape without a DJ is unheard of for me, and that’s where Lucky C comes in. He’s part of the one of the hottest DJ crews in Miami,FL called “Jam Squad” and he’s Phatz(Fly or Die/Valholla), DJ as well. It all just came together perfect.
24: What inspired you to do the mixtape and what should the readers be expecting from the CD when it drops?
Mimi: I feel like Memoirs has gotten to a point where people respect it enough and me as the author to have a soundtrack to the “Dream”, and there is where the mixtape comes in. You guys are going to love it! It’s a playlist straight from my head. I just know you’ll hear some stuff you like or even love! Expect the finished project available for download later this month.
24: Tell the readers what’s next for you and what should they be looking out for from Memoirs of A Jaded Dreamer for the rest of 2010?
Mimi: Well as for me, I have several projects I’m working on currently including a slot on an internet Radio Show named Wavelink Radio. I’m also Miss November 2011 for MJA Fashion‘s calendar “F*shion Me Hard” dropping this September. I’ve also done some freelance blogging for Slip N Slide‘s Thug.com as well as 24HourHipHop.com, so hopefully I can be a regular contributor soon. Last but not least working on a few projects with Fly Or Die, Valholla and Phatz. There’s a lot up next for the family. As for Memoris I’ll be getting on that digital movement soon. I’m working on making the site more interactive, video blogging, interviews etc. so expect a re-vamp in the near future.
24: What’s the best way to stay in tuned with everything your doing?
Mimi: I’m all over the world wide web! Hit me up on Twitter at www.twitter.com/mimiluvzu2, Facebook www.facebook.com/MIMITHEDREAMER, or on Myspace www.myspace.com/myjadeureyez. You can also visit my other mini blog: www.TheSerialDreamer.tumblr.com, as well as the company blog ValhollaIsTheFuture.com. Of course don’t forget to visit MOJD.NET and tell a friend(smiling).
24: Any final words for the readers?

Dade County, let’s take over the world! Not to mention a special thank you to you Mr. Carter and the whole 24HourHipHop.com family, you guys are truly remarkable.
