On May 26th we are suppose to be celebrating memorial day a
day for our fallen soldiers which they deserve, but with the passing of the new
G.I bill that McCain and W didn’t support there has been more and more talks of
our forgotten soldiers.  We have been at
war for six years now and many Americans, young Americans have lost their
lives, but I’m not just talking about the soldiers that were killed on the
front line, I’m also talking about the ones that are still living.  These soldiers lives will never be the same,
they will never have a regular life again, and this is because of a War that
was started under false pretenses.  These
soldiers have giving their all and come back to a country that is run by pencil
pushers who could care less about what they’ve done to fight in a war that
should have never happened.

Soldiers are coming home, and finding out that they no
longer have any job, home and sometimes no family.  They are not being taken care of the way a
hero of war should be taken care of, they are being thrown to the side as if
they hadn’t just risked their lives to fight for a country that should not have
been at war in the first place.  How can
you treat persons that have put their lives on the lines for your bullshit
reasons of war like shit?  Like I said in
one of my other articles I love being from America there is no place like it,
but I hate the pieces of shit that make up and run this country as a callous
big time corporation.  The thing about
this war today is that there are large amounts of kids coming back and going
into war and a large amount are minorities.
Our children are being recruited at their schools; a place I feel should
be off limits, the military is being given more leeway than universities and
colleges in an attempt to sell our children dreams so that can put their lives
on the line for something they will never ever benefit from.

Not only are our young men and women getting caught up in
the traps in our neighborhoods, but they are also getting caught in the traps
of our govt.  These recruiters are going
after our best and brightest children and making the military seem like it’s
the best choice for them if they want to succeed.  They are being tricked into thinking that our
government really gives a shit about whom and what they are, and that they are
looking out for their best interest.
These kids are being sold a dream that most of the times will never come
to pass, because all the military is looking for now is more bodies.  Soldiers are doing four and five tours over
there in Iraq, and the military needs more bodies to lift that load off of ones
that have already been there.  These
recruits can’t be found in the schools that are mostly populated by privileged
kids, and that’s because these kids parents won’t have any parts in that, in
our government’s eyes they are too precious.
The kids from our neighborhoods are looked at as being disposable and
fortunate enough to get out the hood.

These kids that are coming home are going through things
that we have no idea of because of what they might have been through in Iraq,
and the country that promised to support them is hanging them out to dry.  They are some that are now amputees, and
dealing with post war traumatic stress.
Many are being denied clean facilities at VA hospitals and have only
been granted better because of the media exposing them.  Some are not being given the proper help in
order to deal with the trauma that they’ve been through serving their country.  Many are being replaced at jobs that they’ve
left in order to serve their country and have to through the grueling process
of getting the justice department involved in order to get what they
deserve.  Why is it that you have to
fight for something that’s owed to you after serving your time for your country?

It didn’t take anything for them to send out the letter
saying that you were going to shipped off to war, but it takes a fight to get
the benefits that you are owed.  On this Memorial
Day don’t just think about the our fallen soldiers, but think about our
forgotten soldiers the ones that are forgotten about by the people that put
them in a situation where their lives were at risk.  For our young men and women that are being
pressured into joining the military, don’t think that this is your only way out
of a bad or displeasing situation, because it’s not, there are other ways to
get to where you want to be.  I want you
to think about what’s really going on and the reason for it, and how it makes
no sense for us to even be over there, think about your life and how it will be
impacted by signing your life over, if after taking the time out to think about
these things you decide the military is for you, by all means go with your
heart.

I just want you to understand that your life will never
again be the same once you make that choice and that there is a possibility
that the people that will send you to war will not appreciate anything that
you’ve done in a war that they’ve created.
To all our fallen soldiers R.I.P and to our forgotten soldiers you are
not forgotten in our eyes please be blessed.
These are just my thoughts.
