24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.
2wop:My name is 2wop (on left of picture) and my cousin Boss we are from Huntington, WV aka “Moneyton”
24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?
2wop: We have a family record label, so we grew up on music in our family. I began having concerts, then writing hooks, then songs. I am inspired by Lil Wayne/Cash Money, Turk, Trouble, Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, 2Pac, Yo Gotti, JayZ, Biggie, The Game, AlleyBoy and most of all my cousin Buzzyshine and the SMG family.
24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?
2wop: It’s real local, lots of talent, hard times, we have to work 10x harder than the next based on where we are residing or from.
24: What makes you Unique as a artist and different from other rappers out now?
2wop: We got our own style, we don’t steal rappers swag, rhyme styles or patterns and etc. Most music today is catering to the Chief Keef lane and swag. Which isn’t for everyone, and its actually on fitting the OTF, GBE, 3hunna movement. S/O to they movement to I listen to Chief Keef and Lil Durk the most out there camps.
24: Tell us about what you are working on.
2wop: I am working on my mixtape “HoodDream$ & BrightLight$, and Executive Producing my cousin Boss’s mixtape “Off Tha Scale 2.0,” I also was working with my younger brother D3’s mixtape “Intro 2 Greatness” but he has been working in another city than I am. But he is finishing up his project, yall will be hearing about him real soon.
24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?
2wop: I work with my engineer/prod JakBrown, which is also one of 2chainz prod/engineers. I worked with Nard n B, PK, Platinum Sellers, Zaytoven, Johnny Juliano, MykseBeats, Young Chop and much more. Who would I like to work with Pharrell, KyEngineering, Kartiak, Justice League, Just Blaze, and maybe Kanye.
24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?
2wop: Yeah, I’m truly happy with the feedback im receiving whether its good or bad. Most of all its good and has been all love, not a lot of negative or hatred over or about our music.
24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make your self a household name?
2wop: You need to find you a method or strategy and stick to it. We gon just continue to produce and produce more music, to build our buzz up more, and shoot more videos to put on all these sites as this and WorldStarHipHop.com.
24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?
2wop: I feel it’s changed since I was a kid, its like dance music, skinny jeans, and skateboarding, as opposed to battle rapping, break dancing, and being real lyrical.
24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?
2wop: I’m working on a Non-Profit Organization to help at risk kids in my community, studying at Marshall University for Business Management, and trying to stay on the straight and narrow path. As well as trying to give a better outlook to the world of West Virginia than the Buck Wild show. Its more to West Virginia than jumping into garbage trucks, and the crazy things they were doing. So we speaking up as rappers in this state and plan to lead a good example and represent our state in our best availability.
24: Where do you see yourself going in 2013 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?
2wop: I see myself rich, doing show, with a label, and reaching Billboard Charts. We plan to separate us from other artists by doing the things they will not do, like invest in themselves out of pocket. “With No INVESTORS” getting more features, and continue to proceed with more opportunities like this instead of letting them pass me by.
24: How can fans go about contacting you?
