24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.

Amazin’ Jackson: I am the one and only, Amazin’ Jackson formerly known as Amazin’ Da Corna Boi. I decided to change my name for professional reasons.

24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into the music and what inspired you?

Amazin’ Jackson: Originally, I had no interest in being a recording artist. I was young and more interested into running the streets and hustling. Then as I got a little older and more disciplined, I started getting into dancing and choreographing, which I enjoyed at the time. Eventually, I lost interest in dancing and started becoming intrigued with music.

At the age of 16 I started feelings like I wanted to start creating my own music, as a form of self expressing and had to go thru the stages of being the weakest link out of the crew haahaaa . But , I was inspired and introduced to the music by my big bro & my best friend and from that point on I did everything to better myself as an artist then I just went completely solo and here I am now working my way to be successful as an entertainer which is something I love to do because I love attention and always have.

24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?

Amazin’ Jackson: In the L.A.scene, at that time, I feel there was a lot more being said in music well everywhere, but I can only speak on the background of where in from which is the West Coast . Right off the back, I can tell you I listened to a lot of gangsta rap, like Snoop & Dre when there were rocking with Death Row – and we all remember how aggressive the game was back then with them and Ice Cube, Kam, That Dogg Punt, etc. Other then rap & gangsta rap music my mom would drown me and my brothers with oldies playing them all day long plus she was like the oldie lady in our area.

24: What makes you unique as an artist and different from other rappers out now?

Amazin’ Jackson: Honestly, I have never been easily influenced by pop culture when it comes to making music. I’m not scared to be different and original. I’m comfortable with myself and who I am. One main thing I have never done and never will do is smoke, which is a huge accomplishment to me because I’ve always been around it all my life. Smoking is one of the most common things being done in this industry and seems to be a trend people feel the need to follow . I don’t knock people that smoke and don’t have anything against it – I’m just saying it’s something the makes me stand out from a lot of other rappers as you asked plus im just simply Amazin in numerous different way which will be revealed as I continue to create art thru music.

24: Tell us about what you are working on?

Amazin’ Jackson: Right now, my priority is my single “Twisted,” which is out and moving through the waves as we speak. “Twisted” was produced by my bro, King David Sanotra. I also have a tape I’m working on in the mean time, called “On My Way Up” that should be dropping around September or October and “I’m the Feature,” which will include a lot of tracks in featured on . I’m also doing a lot of building of my catalog just recording and experimenting with different styles of music and different sound – there’s going to be a lot of Amazin’ music coming from my way most definitely. Hard Work & Pure Consistency!

24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?

Amazin’ Jackson: I have worked with a lot of independent producers such as: DJ Huly, David Grants, Malik, King David Sanotra, Remixx and few others.

24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?

Amazin’ Jackson: Yes – it’s beyond impressive how positive people are responding to my music. I know my music is only going to get better as long as I keep doing what I do and give the people all of me with no disguise.

24: In today’s free download age, what do you need that you don’t to make yourself a household name?

Amazin’ Jackson: I honestly feel like the only thing I am lacking at the moment is more national exposure along with the massive stream of promotion to build my buzz as a artist and not just “That Guy Who Did That One Song”. I’m doing this for long term and not just for right now.

24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?

Amazin’ Jackson: I don’t really feel the need to have to feel a certain way about it because I feel like everybody is doing them in they own way rather people rate it Hot Or Whack they just doing what they got to do & that the same thing I’m here to do.

24: Outside of the music what else are you currently working on?

Amazin’ Jackson: Outside of the music I’m trying to merge into the acting world as a main character not just an extra, haha. I’ve always been interested in acting and modeling. It’s all about being in front of the camera with me and I love being on camera with the ability to be seen by whoever tunes in to watch whatever it is I’m doing on that camera.

24: Where do you see yourself going in 2011 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artists out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?

Amazin’ Jackson: I’m trying to go where ever it is God takes me to be honest with you. You can’t limit yourself with levels because once you reach that level, you set you for yourself you either will have it in you to keep going or be comfortable at the level in which you have stopped at. All I can say is I’m going to go as far as I can go and no matter what never stop my grind and NEVER get too comfortable.

24: How can fans go about contacting you?

Amazin’ Jackson: All the fans out there can hit me on Twitter.com/MyLifeIsAmazin or Facebook.com/AmazinFans. I try my best to get back to everyone.

24: Thank you for providing 24hourhiphop.com with this exclusive interview, do you have any last words for your present and future fans?

Amazin’ Jackson: It was a pleasure having this opportunity. To all the fans, supporters, family, and everyone on my team – I love you all and thank you all for holding me down and at the end of the day I do this for us.
