24: Introduce yourself to everyone and let them know where your representing?
Bianca Simmone: Hey, everyone I’m Bianca Simmone and I’m an artist born and raised in London, England. I represent my home town to the fullest but I cross the seas when it comes to my passion and work so I represent feel good music and those who appreciate it.
24: Who were some of your musical influences growing up?
Bianca Simmone: That’s a bit of a tricky one because I grew up with my mom who is from Jamaica and I was brought up on Reggae, Rare Grooves, Rivival and Soca music. At the same my brother was heavily into Hip-Hop. The first song he taught me was LL Cool J‘s “Mama Said“. He also loved soul music so if I was to name a few who stuck out to me I would say Issac Hayes, Al Green, John Holt to Boyz 2 Men, Jodeci, SWV, Total, Mary J. Blidge to name a few.
24: A lot of the readers may know you from modeling even though you have officially stopped modeling now, but I wanted to know which was your first love modeling or music?
Bianca Simmone: That’s an easy one, it’s always been Music. Even when I was modeling and before my modeling career launched I was doing music but not heavily involved. Don’t get me wrong I miss modeling a lot some times but I always felt there was a missing part to the puzzle and only since my music career has launched the missing piece to the puzzle has be found.
24: Is it a hard transition getting people who knew your for modeling to now look at you as an artist or has it helped more because of all of the networking and contacts you were able to come across through the modeling industry?
Bianca Simmone: It’s a bit of both really. At first I thought to myself how am I going to convince people to take me serious as an artist after my modeling career but then I realized I’m not here to convince anyone. Actions speak volumes and I’ll let my work speak for itself and keep doing what I love as if 4 people out of 10 believe in my work and what I’m doing, I’m going to concentrate on those 4 people and roll with the positive. Rather than look at the 6 who don’t and feed off the negative. Being within the modeling industry has definitely been beneficial as I have got to work with people like DJ Kay Slay, Birdman, Lil Wayne and Jay Sean to name a few. I have built up contacts through them and projects I have been on. None of it has been easy or a walk through the park. I’m just happy that people I have met have believed in me and taken me seriously as many would just either not take time out to see what your about and others pretend they are interested but have hidden agendas.
24: What do you feel your bringing to the music world with your sound and style?
Bianca Simmone: I know this may sound somewhat conceited but it isn’t(lol). I am bringing me. Definitely, something fresh, new, original and creative. I don’t just sing, I Dance, Act. I stay true to who I am and I do not have a team behind me who tell me what to look like, sound like or act like. I don’t have management or a label so I basically steer my own ship. My music is cross over R&B which means it has an R&B feel vocally to it but the genre of music itself can be anything from a hard hip hop beat to Rock or House track so I can appeal to all. My look is unique and many can not tell where I am from.My music is fresh to the ears as even though you can say that you may see similar similarities to other artist, I have managed to make sure I am not identical to none. Many need to remember without the previous person who would you learn from or get ideas from. No harm in following in another footsteps as long your leaving your own footprints behind.
24: Tell the readers about some the projects your currently working on?
Bianca Simmone: I am currently coming to the states to work on my next single which will be recorded with someone I call practically my family “H-Money“. He was the person who previously recorded my first single “Pressure” featuring Baby Blue. He is doing big things right now so be on the look out for him. His company name is BlackOut Entertainment and he just produced the hit track for Jawan Harris “Nobody“. While I’m over in the states I will be start to working on the rest of my album. Back in London I am currently co-writing with a member from FDM(Fundemental)who has been signed to Ne-Yo’s Compound Entertainment and also working on a track with 9th Prince(from Wu-Tang) for his album. So a few exciting things happening at the moment.
24: Who would you love to work with in the near future that you think would help bring you to a whole different level?
Bianca Simmone: That’s a hard one because I would have to name a few. Definitely, Timbaland because I have been listening to him growing up and love what he does as a musician. Niki Minaj as well, I love her flow and I think our energy levels together on a track would be out of this world. Not to mention Trey Songz. I really love his style and sound and Jadakiss or Jeezy. I think their flows are tight. I have to mention Tinie Tempah he’s from my hometown and is very talent and it would only be right to do a track with him.
24: What should the readers look out for from you for the rest of 2010 going into 2011?
