Even before the release of his debut album, fans across Florida are already beginning to recognize the name Billy Blue. A household name across the city limits of Miami and soon the world, this artist comprises originality at its finest. Between his vocal delivery and his lyrics, he redefines Hip-Hop on a totally different level where many others have tried and failed. Not even a year into his contract with the prominent Poe Boy Music Group, he has already attached himself with some of the hottest labels in the industry today. When we say some, it’s obvious we mean more than one. Blue has become that Million Dollar Man as he is officially signed to three different labels all under the supervision of Poe Boy, those labels are as follows: Konvict Music, Mosley Music, and Interscope Records. Listen to the artist who has become that missing voice in the hood.

I told you in our first interview that Blue is bringing Hip-Hop back to the forefront with his creative flow and lyrical narrative mannerism. Don’t doubt the talents and the attributes of Billy Blue, you haven’t seen anything yet. I told you that was only the beginning, Chapter 2 is now in effect. This is the follow up interview with the established Billy Blue exclusively on 24hourhiphop.com.

24: What been going on with the infamous Billy Blue, since the last time we’ve talked?

Billy Blue: I got my deal from Poe Boy. It’s crazy; it’s a big blessing from God. I’ve got other labels that I’m signed to, but I’ll wait to talk about that.

24: Before we get into your deals, which is the most important part of this discussion. We know you’ve been in the studio non-stop; what direction is Poe Boy trying to move you into now and in what quarter this year should we expect a debut album?

Billy Blue: This year. It’s all about that hit record. Once you have that hit record, it don’t matter what quarter you release album in. It could be the last quarter and they say, ‘Man, you got to get this out to the people now.’ So most likely by the grace of God, I’ll be out by the summer time doing what I do, making that music that people love; that feel good music, that Billy Blue music, that music that don’t change. That real nigga shit.

24: Music that doesn’t change, quite inspiring. In spite of that, are you always going to keep that gutter image or will you do a switch up later on, maybe in your sophomore album?

Billy Blue: I’m me first before anyone else. There is no image, it’s just Blue. I rap; I express how I feel, depending on what kind of beat I got. If I got a pop beat and I’m feeling it, I’m gone spit on that pop shit, but I’m going to make it go. My image is never really going to switch, the beats are going to change, but I’ll still spit that gangster shit.

24: After signing to Poe Boy and gaining a full idea of the industry, would you say your lyrics have progressed to a different level now?

Billy Blue: Yes. When you sign that deal, you got to go in that right direction. You got to show them that you’re not going to stay at that same level they found you at. You got to show them that you’re going to kick it up a notch; climb that ladder just to get to the top. It’s beautiful when you hear yourself spitting and you’re like ‘Damn, I don’t ever remember being able to spit like this.’ I kicked it up a notch and stepped up my game.

24: I know Poe Boy has you working like a beast; can you describe your life after signing with them?

Billy Blue: I’ve been doing shows in Mexico, Orlando, Texas and getting ready to go to California. I’ve just been in the studio 24/7, nothing to talk about and no partying. The only time I party is when I do a show and that’s not fun time. My job is going to that club and spitting. Giving the people what they like. That’s when I’m happy. The studio is what I do.

24: Give us a synopsis of where you were then to where you are now.

Billy Blue: A year ago today I was sleeping in my car, DJing at a club. I didn’t have shit; the dope game was fucked up. I didn’t have shit. I was just dreaming of becoming a rapper and I never really thought that dream would come true. Now I’m hopping into my Beamer, going into my little mini mansion and I’m like ‘Damn, life changed in the blink of an eye.’ I was just another nigga trying to make it. Thinking dreams don’t come true, get a 9 to 5. Things change though, that’s why I keep God in my prayers every day. Sometimes I just pray for no reason.

24: Let’s fast forward. You’ve got the label; you’ve got the deal, so now let’s kill the rumors. Who have you signed to, I’m quite sure it is major?

Billy Blue: Poe Boy, Konvict, Mosley, and Interscope.

24: Poe Boy heavyweight execs E Class and Big Chuck situated the business outcome quite well and I’m sure you’re content with the way things are going as it concerns the contract and direction of everything, would you agree?

Billy Blue: I’m loving the direction that things are going in. E- Class feels you; he makes you strong and prepared for everything. He feels you to the point that he makes you an unstoppable, indestructible force. Chuck, he gives you that game, he lets you know that you can’t pay attention to everybody because people are full of shit and you got to be ready to keep them off. So, Chuck gives you that game, E-Class gives you that strength, Poe Boy gives you that brand and I’m happy with that direction.

24: As a matter of fact, would you say that Chuck, E- Class, and Poe Boy developed the artist that you are now?

Billy Blue: I was always an artist, but I would say they developed me into a better artist. They believed in me. When a person believes in you, you’re willing to go that extra mile to fulfill their belief. I believed in myself and it showed me that I could have anything.

24: So from that belief, you’ve come out with Poe Boy, Konvict, Mosley Music and Interscope, you’re debut is going to be an incredible album, especially with the production scheme they put down on this. What other producers are you going to work with besides Timberland and Akon?

Billy Blue: J Rock, J the motherfucking Rock. Cosmo, DJ Monte, and Jackpot, their like the next Runners if not bigger.

24: You have a unique style. So out of all the producers you just mentioned, do they all know your element and your style?

Billy Blue: The man out of all of them that knows the most, like my craft, my timing, the way I breath, blink my eye, everything, is J Rock.

24: What are you going to incorporate into the album, street life, reality; can you describe the inspiration going into your music?

Billy Blue: I’m going to incorporate everything. The majority of it of course, will be about where I come from, what I’ve been through, and how I’ve been molded to be the person that I am. Most of these rappers rap about that hood shit, because we are subject to it. Right now we have a lot of niggas from the hood making it, so they’re going to give you that hood shit. From your hood to mine, I’ve got a song for that, but it’s different. Everybody was born different, with a different history. Everybody has a different yellow brick road that they followed, so I’m just that person to give you that part. Give you the shit in the world that we think is fucked up, the stuff we think about, and the shit that were afraid to think about in our minds. It is what it is. I’m going to give one hundred percent.

24: Now with that soon to be classic album, four, five months from now, are you ready to become that international artist?

Billy Blue: I’m ready for the world. I’m ready to see people, I love people, you learn from people. You learn their disabilities, their fuck ups, the good, the bad and the ugly. When you speak for the people you’ve learned from, you learn that every person is entitled to their way of life. You can ask them, ‘Why would they go through that, why would they live like that?’ Their world is different from everybody, so I want to know what’s going on in their hoods that I can express for you. The whole world can’t rap; I’m like, the voice to express that. While you’re driving down I-95, you just pop in that CD and you listen and you’re just like, ‘Man, that’s all I want to hear right now.’ That’s me; I’m going to be that voice. I’m going to be what you want me to be, that voice. I’m going to talk for you, because we all need someone to speak for us sometime.

24: How would the fans get in contact with you, if they wanted to listen to new music or even book you?

Billy Blue: Myspace.com/305BillyBlue, every now and then I do check, I try to answer everyone and of course, 24hourhiphop.com. And if you’re looking to book me, holla at Chuck, shoot him an email, bigchuck305@gmail.com.

24: Thank you for this follow up exclusive interview on a higher level, do you have any last words for your present and soon to be future fans?

Billy Blue: Trust and believe, I love ya’ll. I’m going to give you what you want; what you ask for and if you aren’t asking, I’m going to give you what you need. I’ll motivate you. I’m showing you that I’m just another dude who comes from nothing and now has become something. People like me exist, I didn’t have a hundred thousand on the streets; I wasn’t moving a million bricks, I was struggling just like your ass. I had a 9 to 5, I’ve been on probation, I’ve been in jail, been fucked up. I’ve asked myself how I’m going to get by to do what I’ve got to do this week. In the end, I’m you, I’m the people, the people are me. God bless all of you, everybody needs to make it in this world, everyone has a dream that they’re trying to accomplish. Shout out to Zenn, shout out to North Miami, Little Haiti, especially Little Haiti. Shout out to Carol City, Opa Locka, the City, Goulds, Perrine, 561, shout out to Lake Worth.
