24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.
What up world I go by the name of Blu and I’m representing that Empire State Brooklyn NY
24: Before we get into your music, briefly describe your history on how you got into the industry and who inspired you to pursue music?
I had some friends of mines who had been doing music for years so being around them, I kind of just picked up on it. Like, I remember the first rap I wrote and rapped for them and they laughed at me and told me keep my day job (laugh) but I didn’t let that get to me. I just keep writing. I started getting better and better and now we here today. As far as who inspired me, of course being from Brooklyn, Jay-Z. I would have to say Soulja Boy and believe or not Floyd Mayweather even thought he has nothing to do with the music industry. It just his whole swag like he knows he’s the shit, can’t nobody touch him when he’s in the ring. The whole arena wants to see him lose but at the end he always the one with the win so that what I’m gunning for; a win.
24: What makes Blu unique as an artist and different from other rappers?
I would have to say just me and my swag, like I’m not trying to sound or copying anything that out there now. I’m just staying true to the game as well as myself. Being the first and only Blu.
24: Have you ever felt like too much time passes in the game where you have to make it and that window is closing?
Yea sometimes but I always tell myself music is my plan A B and C so if this doesn’t work then what? So this has to work, it’s going to work so with that install in my brain I take it day by day and push till I can’t push no more
24: In the beginning stages of your mixtape “Good Music”, what producers have you worked with or would like to work with on this upcoming project?
For that mixtape it was all in house producers no one known. I would really like to get some music from Lex Luger he got some heat out there, or anyone who got some hot stuff I’m not really picky
24: Can you give us an estimation of a time period on when that album will (grace the shelves/available for download)?
As of now I’m just recording putting it all together trying to make a masterpiece so I don’t have a date yet but ya can follow me on twitter.com/blu260 to keep up with me and get the lastest update
24: What was your inspiration for the singles Party and Killin’ em?
Well the Party record, the title speaks for itself. Just out partying and having a good time. The killing ‘em record you know when you get that fresh cut looking sharp, your cloths is fly, your swag on a 1000, just feeling and looking good, haters don’t like that it makes them sick to their stomach but we just doing us instead of leaving them all sick and bothered we calling up the EMS to come help them out (laugh).
24: What is the overall music you want to convey to your listeners and listening to your music?
That life is to short to walk around always angry and mad at the world you can’t be killing and shooting people on every record let party and have a good time
24: You have a buzz slowly building now with your singles. How are you going to keep it going?
Keep making hits and using the internet.
24: How would you describe the changes from when you entered the game to now?
The internet has cause a major change it wasn’t as powerful then as it is now
24: Do you enjoy the social networking aspect of the game or do you look at it like it’s something you have to do?
Yea I think it something every artist has to and should do. I enjoy it because not everybody that listen and love your music y’all be able to see, touch and come in contact with so the social networks like twiiter, facebook is a good way to keep in contact with your fans
24: In today’s free download age, what do you need that you don’t have to make yourself a household name?
Well the internet is free and available to everyone free of charge but what I would like to have is the big machine behind me (major label) to lend me a hand
24: What are you currently working on outside of music?
Right now the main focus is music.
24: How would the fans go about contacting you and do you have any last words?
Well first I just want to say thanks to you and City for putting this together and thanks to everyone out there supporting me and ask that you continue to do so and just be on the look out for me.
