24HHH: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are?

Butta Da Great: To My Friends My Name is Marcus, but to everyone else they call me Butta..

24HHH: How did you come up with your Artist name? Tell us about it

Butta Da Great: I was smooth about everything I did, so people just started calling me butta so it stuck. Honestly I can’t even remember the first person who called me that, But Shoutout to that person anyways. lol

24HHH: Where are you from, and what was it like growing up there? 

Butta Da Great: South Side of Chicago.It was rough growing up mother was always getting high, Never knew my fatherI was raised by my grandmother 12 Grandchildren were in the household with me.

24HHH: Who were you raised by? Tell us your family situation. Got any brothers, sisters, or any siblings?

Butta Da Great: I have 1 brother 2 Sisters, and one sister passed at the hospital having my nephew.

24HHH: Tell us about your childhood, and how it impacted your music?

Butta Da Great: I was able to express myself in the music cause it was super hard growing up.Always around Gangsters and Drug Dealers. My First Single really doesn’t express that cause I really wanted to make it radio friendly, but the mix tape does.

24HHH: What age did you start making music? 

Butta Da Great: I made music growing up but didn’t take it to seriously I really started going hard about a year ago.

24HHH: What inspired you to pursue making music? 

Butta Da Great: I was hearing people around my neighborhood talking about what they had and I knew they were lying, so I decided to talk about what I really had and it just came to the point that it made sense to pursue.

24HHH: What artists/producers do you work with? Or rubbed shoulders with? 

Butta Da Great: I rubbed shoulders with everyone in the industry but I have in house producers who really hold me down Like Soundman & The Single Makers.

24HHH: What else you got coming out? New Album? or Mixtape/EP?

Butta Da Great: Dropping a new mixtape in 2014 called Real Talk just me really speaking about what happens in the hood & might put a single or two on there as well.

24HHH: Tell us about your newest single "Jealousy",  how did you come up with that, share us the story?

Butta Da Great: A real good friend of mine came up with a concept He’s also in the industry by the name of John Blu we were chillen one day in the studio and he had the hook laid down & I told him that got to be my New Single so we rolled with it and made sure it was a smash.

24HHH: Any new travel plans, what you got going on? 

Butta Da Great: Trying to hit all the important states like New York, Miami, California, Florida & Texas This Year with my music. I got all the heavy’s from Chicago on my Mixtape or on Singles so im trying to rub shoulders with all the rappers and singers outside of Chicago who are poppin. They Just Started Playing My Single on Power 92.3 Shout Out to Seandale & J Hector My Management Team.
