24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.

Cappital Hill: We go by the names of Sayellz (pronounced Sales) and Pelham, together the group is known as Cappital Hill.

24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?

Pelham: I mean we just always been a fan of the art form since my older siblings introduced my ears to the sounds of artist(s) such as BDP, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap.. I mean the list goes on

Sayellz: And then our newer generation of artists like Nas, Jay-Z, and Big Pun just put a drive in me and I always knew beyond a doubt I had a passion just never knew how to articulate myself until my g Pelham influenced me to write on some just chillin’ in the hood type stuff.. Ever since we just felt we bring a new and delightful element so here we are Cappital Hill.

24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where your from?

Cappital Hill: Played a big role in our culture you know. From the way you dressed, spoke, .. I mean we were smart enough to decipher from right and wrong in any negative sense just as u do from movies exact, but Hip-Hop for me was Block parties.. Watching our siblings party in the park.. Music video box.. Lol Just that vintage type skate key raw rockin to the beats type hip hop.. Krs one was like god man.. And then u know it evolves into your bootcamp click era etc, etc. But it became our culture period.. Our swagg our everything.

24: What makes you Unique as a artist and different from other rappers out now?

Sayellz;: I mean Hip-Hop artist(s) I favored have been very influential to me & Hip-Hop itself and pretty much music in all, is recycled in more than just one pin pointed sense we all borrow.. so I mean along with all those elements that we love we just try to give everyone dope music based off our personalities and characteristics in a sense of versatility, witty metaphors and punchlines.. I mean beyond that the music just speaks for itself.

Pelham: I mean just just putting my personality behind my charisma to be honest and being from a different type of era growing up! Where our peers was always 5 years and better in age had a lot to do with the unique personality. Aside that just being creative and witty in he art that would define me as a artist. Not following the follow the leader trend but more so setting a trend, A leader by design.

24: Tell us about what you are working on.

Cappital Hill: Right now we are working long and hard on our EP finishing up currently.. Been a long journey especially funding the entire project independently so, it’s just been about the quality of the work.. It’s all original and exclusive music.. We brought a lot of dope producers out such as Younglord, Buckwild, Charlemagne that bring a lot of different elements in making this an extremely dope, lyrically filled, versatile master piece.. Nothing short of that we promise u.

24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?

Cappital Hill: As we stated above .. you know we been working with them along with others such as Sacario & exct.. But some guys we would love to work with and that would definitely be Polow Da Don, Just Blaze, Timbaland. I mean we have a lot on the list in no specific order we just think those guys can elevate the bar and bring the best out of artist(s) hence wanting to work with them.

24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?

Sayellz: Ahh yeah definitely.. I mean it means the world to us.. We put alot of thought and Sorting out.. Alot of mental and physical energy into making great music people will love.. And while said all that I don’t feel we have even began but the people who do give feed back make it all worth wild.. Always great to know ur craft and hard work goes appreciated

Pelham: I love the feed back because its so real, nowadays good music is rare lets be honest lol I mean we have fans that follow and support with out hesitation, we represent the unheard majority and that just with the building up of this project! The Awakening.

24: In today’s free download age, what do you need that you don’t to make yourself a household name.

Sayellz: I don’t feel We need anything in terms of ethics.. You know the industry is big yet small.. And I
Mean that in the sense of how people act and conduct business.. And when your coming up people can be deceptive and ultimately it alters your perspective.. So I strongly believe that hard work doesn’t go unnoticed and if we continue with our ethics with the right people and distribution factoring in we can be unstoppable to many degrees.

Pelham: I concur and could not have said it better my self! Really the music will speak for its self we are and will continue to be a strong force to be reckon with in music and what ever else comes along!

24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?

Sayellz: Well one thing Cappital Hill is not are haters.. We enjoy all elements of artistry even at the expense of simplicity.. We know how to appreciate what elements artists bring into music period.. So I don’t think there is a problem in terms of artistry.. I think more problems lie within marketing and distribution.. I think labels want to continue creating facades and following trends to follow what seeks rather then allow artists to be unique.. Along with that piracy is crazy.. So I think the only state that has alot of turbulence is more so the business aspect.

Pelham: Monopolized…..Point blank period!

24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?

Cappital Hill: Films, production, anything and everything that goes hand and hand with music and our trademark our stamp.. But right now music is our foundation after that stone is turned then we can branch off and continue building our empire.

24: Where do you see yourself going in 2011 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artists out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?

Cappital Hill: Just DOPE music.. Consistency and great work ethics.. All we ever knew since we started.. Hard work always pays off and always goes recognized.
