24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t
already know who you are.
My
name is Cash Flizzo aka Cash 2 da Flizzo, Straight out of Dade County, and I’m
a part of the Tycoon Group Ent. Movement.
24: Briefly describe your history, how you got into
the industry and what inspired you.
I
was introduced to music at a young age. My pops always played records when I
was growing up. I can remember the first time I heard LL Cool J, Eric B, and
Rakim. At that moment back then, I knew what I would be doing as a career. I
started writing music from the age of 9 and been going ever since.
24: Who are some artists in the industry would you say
you listen to on a regular and would probably like to work with in the near
future?
I
mean, I try not to listen to too many people but I like Kanye West, Jay-Z, Rick
Ross, Lil Wayne, T.I. and some others. Those would be the artists that I would
most likely want to collab or work with.
24: What producers have you worked with or would like
to work with on this upcoming project?
The
producers I have worked with so far are up and coming producers. No big names,
I’m just looking for that fresh new sound to coexist with my style of music.
24: When that album will grace the shelves/be
available for download?
Right
now, I’m working on two different projects. One, which is a freestyle mixtape
titled “New Year, New Face, New Money” and the other project, which
is my EP, is titled “Difficult Takes A Day, Impossible Takes A Week”.
You should be expecting these two projects available for download this summer.
24: What was your inspiration for the hit single What I Look Like?
Well,
the inspiration for my single came to me spur of the moment. The beat was so
simple and catchy, the song came together quite quickly. I just wanted it to be
a record that everybody could feel whether male or female.
24: What makes you unique as an artist and different
from other up-and-coming artists?
What
makes me stand out the most would be the fact that I am a hybrid artist. Being
a well-round and versatile artist is very important to me. I don’t want to be
one of those artists that’s held to one type of style of music. I can pretty
much do anything. Also, just my story alone would separate me from the
bunch.
24: What are you currently working on?
Currently,
I’m working on my freestyle mixtape and my EP.
24: How do you feel about the current state of music
in general?
To
me, music is continuously growing by the year, but as far as Hip Hop goes, we
need to get back to making full albums. I believe that’s what Hip Hop is
missing. Good albums and great music that is timeless.
Are you happy with the
feedback you’ve been getting from the songs
you’ve released so far?
I’m
very happy with the responses I have been receiving so far. The streets have
been showing me love and I think Miami as a city is ready for that next level
artist.
24: Do you feel like the magazine-type websites or
blogs are more valuable today to a new artist?
Yes,
I do. It’s the current & future way of promotion and exposure. You see
half of the XXL freshman list recently came
from Magazine/Blog-sites. I believe they give us an outlet and it’s
an extra way for an up and coming artist to be seen or even heard. A website or
blogsite can pretty much take an artist to that next level. Just being
on24hrhiphop now is a boost and I definitely appreciate this opportunity.
24: Does it bother you at all that you’re giving out
the music for free or do you look at that as something that you have to do at
this point in your career?
Right
now, giving out free music is a part of building your fan base. If the people
appreciate and love the free music, they won’t mind paying that $10 – $13 for
your album. So I will continuously give the people as much music as possible.
24: If you had no features on the album, how would you
tell people they needed to have this project?
Well,
I wouldn’t have to say much, I will just let the music speak for itself. I want
my music to be a breath of fresh air for the listeners. Features to me are just
a bonus, but I believe I can handle and hold my own.
You have a buzz slowly
building now with your music. How are you going to keep it going?
I’m
going to continue to make good music and grow as an artist and put out the best
music possible as much as possible. There is a new Miami Movement
bubbling and i want to contribute to it.
24: How would the fans go about contacting you?
My
website is coming very soon, but for now, they can find me on twitter:
@CashFlizzo.
