24: For those out there that don’t know you, introduce
yourself.

David Lyn: This ya boy David Lyn. Here at the Poe Boy
Studios.

24: For those that don’t know, you’ve appeared on BET’s 106
& Park twice. How did that come about?

David Lyn: First, everything started with recording some
songs in my garage and I made a song with some friends. BET called them up and
said that they liked the song and the vibe. So they flew us up there and I sand
a song for them called ‘Dade
County.’ They were
feeling it and they said they just wanted the R&B singer, so that was a big
break for me. They set up for me to go on 106 & Park two weeks later and I
performed on Wild Out Wednesday and I won.

24: Then they brought you back for a 2nd time
right?

David Lyn: Yea. They brought me back and I won the Wild Out
Wednesdays All-Stars.

24: Being a new artist, how did that help your exposure?

David Lyn: It helped me a lot. That’s how Poe Boy saw me.
The producer J-Rock saw me on 106 & Park and he liked the sound of everything
and they hit me up. Now I’m here working on my mixtape.

24: How long have you been singing?

David Lyn: I’ve been singing since I was 12.

24: You are a young artist as well, how old are you?

David Lyn: I just turned 17 on Thanksgiving.

24: What influenced you into singing?

David Lyn: Mostly just watching people like Michael Jackson,
Sam Cooke, Sammy Davis Jr. just because of the stuff that comes along with
singing, which is performing and that’s something I love to do

24: What separates you from all these other artists?

David Lyn: Just my style. All these artist are doing their
thing, but I’m bringing a whole different sound to the game. Even the way I
perform is different and new.

24: How would you categorize your music? Who would be your
competitor?

David Lyn: Everybody is my competition. My genre and style
is various. I’m open to all styles of music. I try to do as much as I can.

24: What are you currently working on?

David Lyn: We just finished the song “Materialistic Girl,’ I
have a song called ‘Check My.’ It’s a little slow jam. I have song with this
producer called Hotbox called ‘Control.’ That’s going to be a hype song,
something people can dance to.

24: How is Poe Boy helping you with your situation?

David Lyn: Poe Boy is helping me a lot. They’re helping me
with exposure and teaching me a lot about the game and bringing me into the
industry. Chuck is a big help and all the producers like J Rock and just the
whole Poe Boy family.

24: I know you recently performed for Atlantic Records
A&R Mike Caren. How did that turn out?

David Lyn: Yea I just recently performed for Mike Caren from
Atlantic Records. That went pretty well. Everyone was feeling it. [Rick] Ross
was there, Flo Rida, Brisco. Everyone was there and they were feeling it.

24: If you could pick a label that would fit you the most,
who would it be?

David Lyn: I mean…my options are always open. I want a label
that is going to best fit me as an artist.

24: What are your goals as an artist?

David Lyn: My goal is just to be the best at what I do. I
want to make it to the top.

24: How can fans find out more about you?

myspace.com/davidlyn2 or they can go to 24hourhiphop.com. If you want to have a
close up chat, hit up myspace.com/davidlyn
