24HHH: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are?

Deuce Fantastick: Whats going on world? I go by the name of Deuce Fantastick. One half of the Peep Game clique. I’m representing Edmonton Alberta, Canada.

24HHH: How did you come up with your Artist name? Tell us about it.

Deuce Fantastick: Deuce is a name that I acquired growing up in Millwoods, people starting calling me that as a teenager and it just stuck. I added the Fantastick because I have a high belief in my ability and I want my name to represent somebody that has confidence.

24HHH:  Where are you from, and what was it like growing up there?

Deuce Fantastick: I’m from Edmonton, AB Canada. I grew up in a blue collar middle class family that showed me the value of hard work and dedication. I grew up on the South side in a neighborhood called Millwoods. It was a good community to grow up in; sports were a big part of my upbringing and kept me out of trouble for the most part.

24HHH:  Who were you raised by? Tell us your family situation. Got any brothers, sisters, or any siblings? Tell us about your childhood, and how it impacted your music?

Deuce Fantastick: I have one sister, we were raised by both of our parents.  Growing up my dad was a DJ so music was always something that was in the background. Both of my parents immigrated to Canada from Jamaica so I was exposed to a large variety of genres of music growing up.

24HHH: What age did you start making music?

Deuce Fantastick: Music is something I have been experimenting with for as long as I can remember. I remember being in elementary; me and my homeboy would gather a crowd while rapping back and forth in the park. I was always drawn to the love and respect that I got from performing. I really started to take my craft seriously when I was about 15, me and Vylintz went to our first professional studio and recorded a track called “Welcome to E-Town” it got a lot of love and praise and since then I haven’t turned back.

24HHH: What inspired you to pursue making music?

Deuce Fantastick: There isn’t one specific thing that inspired me to make music, it’s something I have always had a connection with and loved to create. The first Hip Hop album I ever bought was “Regulators” by Warren G. I remember being so impressed with the fact that he was a producer and an MC and I think that album gave me the idea to try and produce music myself.

24HHH:  What artists/producers do you work with? Or rubbed shoulders with?

Deuce Fantastick:  I was blessed to go on a tour across Canada with “The Outlaws”. Being around artist’s that have gained so much success in this industry was a great learning experience that I would not trade for the world. I was able to collaborate with them on a track called “Magic” on my album Fantastic For a Reason. I’ve also done a track with West Coast legend WC – you can catch the song on youtube “Wassup”.

24HHH:  Tell us about your newest single , how did you come up with that share the story?

Deuce Fantastick: The latest single I released from my album Fantastic For a Reason is called “Treble Bass”; How the song came about, is I went to my homeboy Vylintz’s place and he showed me the instrumentals he just cooked up, as soon as I heard it I went bonkers. It had such a grimy east coast 90’s feel to it. You’ve got to understand that for me; the 90’s was the golden era of hip hop and artist like 2pac, Biggie and Nas inspired me to do what I do today. Anyway, I heard the beat and wrote the track in two hours.

24HHH: Any new travel plans, what you got going on?

Deuce Fantastick: I’m looking to do as much touring as possible this year, nothing that is written in stone as of yet but I am looking to do another tour in Europe and a few in Canada in the upcoming months. I am just trying to work as much as possible and to build my name; I feel like performing is the best way to do that.

24HHH:  What is the biggest thing to happen in your career?

Deuce Fantastick: The biggest thing thats happened in my career to date would have to be recording tracks with WC and The Outlaws and going on tour and opening for AZ across Europe.

24HHH:  Where can people find you?

24HHH:  Where do you see yourself going in 2014 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?

Deuce Fantastick: In 2014 my plan is to released the best project I have released in my life called- “My Fantastic Reality. This year I want to put in 200% so you will see me putting out a lot of videos, doing a lot of shows, and getting as much press as possible. I think what will separate me from others this year is the amount of work I plan to put in. I want to put Edmonton on the map.

24HHH: Any last words or shout outs?

Deuce Fantastick: Shout out to my recording studio Music Box Studios, if you are in the Edmonton area check out our website www.musicboxstudiosedm.com today and book a session.
