24: How did you get signed to UGK Records?

DJ B-Do: The affiliation is through
my mentor Pimp C & Rick Martin. Rick is C’s manager & mine as well. I’m
also a part of Pimp C’s 808 Boyz Productions along with Steve Below &
Averexx.

24: You are actually a producer as well as an artist so is
that something that you fell separates you from other artist?

DJ B-Do: I’m a producer first, I
write and I’m a DJ. I come from a musical background. My father played the
keyboard. I played the drums since before I could talk & I also learned how
to play the saxophone at a young age.

24: Tell me some producers that inspire you as well as
artist?

DJ B-Do: UGK, NWA, Ghetto Boys,
Three-6 Mafia, DJ Quik, Warren G, Outkast, Organized Noise, Timbaland, Kanye
West and Jazze Pha.

24: What are some must have equipment that you need to be in
the studio to make your beats?

DJ B-Do: I use the Fantom & the
MPC 4000. Nothing’s better than having a live guitar player in a session!

24: You produced “Grind Hard” for UGK so take behind the
making of that beat?

DJ B-Do: Actually “Grind
Hard” was a track that was originally for T.O.E. He called me & told
me he got a verse & hook from Pimp & he wanted me to make another track
around that. I made the track & he dropped his verse & instead of him
paying me for the track I wanted the last verse on the song. After that it was
all history!!! Never in a million years we thought it was going to make the UGK
project. I also co-produced the “Top Drop Dyne” remix along with Cory
Mo that was only available on the CD with the DVD attached. It’s a hidden track
on CD 1 Track #13. Trill Niggaz Don’t Die is really 2 songs and it comes in
when after Bun’s last verse on that song

24: Do you have a certain way you like to approach making
your beats for example I know some producers who start with the drums all the
time?

DJ B-Do: It depends on how I’m
feeling or what’s going on in my head. I can start from keys or drums but it
really doesn’t matter!

24: As an artist what do you think your music brings to the
table?

DJ B-Do: I’m bringing the next
generation to TRILL to the game. That originated in Port Arthur, Texas & no
one else got a chance to let the world hear it from my hood. Trill is how we
really live. Things go on out there that don’t happen anywhere else.

24: What’s your next big career move?

DJ B-Do: I produced “Drop My
Top” for So So Def’s Short Dawg but I don’t know if it’s going to be on
his album or not as yet though. I’m focusing on staying busy and trying to
touch every project that I can. T.O.E and myself are currently working on a
project also.

24: How can someone get in contact with you for some
production or a possible feature, etc?

DJ B-Do: Anyone wanting to get at me can just hit me up at
my myspace page WWW.MYSPACE.COM/DJBDO.

24: Any last comments?

DJ B-Do: Look out for DJ B-DO,
T.O.E.& Yung Messiah from P.A. along with the rest of the UGK Records
family and 808 Boyz To A Hood, at a club to a bass banging trunk near you!
