Drettie:  Wassup Poppa Drettie in the Building!

24HHH:  How did you come up with your Producer/Artist name? Tell us about it.
Poppa Drettie: Well at first I went by the moniker Ray Ray Loko but that was just a lil to hood for Entertainment purposes but I still rode with it and just adopted the last name of AndrettiE because of the way I got down and how I moved always in the streets up to something. and eventually Drettie the shorter version was kind of what stuck and it just fit me so here I am Drettie.
24HHH:  Where are you from, and what was it like growing up there?
Drettie:  I am from Park Hill Denver Co. It was real and it was crazy and it was one hell of a place to be and to see what I saw and learn what I learned and how I learned I would not change it for nothing in the world.
24HHH:  Who were you raised by? Tell us your family situation. Got any brothers, sisters, or any siblings? Tell us about your childhood, and how it impacted your music?
Drettie:  I was raised by my GrandMother lived with her most of my adolescent years my mother had a drug problem when i was young and so i stayed with my granny. My granny house was like training camp for the hustler everybody in there was on the money one way or the other and the lesson was simple don’t sit on yo ass and do nothing get up get out and get it.

24HHH:  What age did you start making music?
Drettie:  I have 7 brothers and sisters my pops was a rolling stone for real but me and my brothers and sisters are all good we grown now! My lodes Brother used to run a HipHop rap group back in the Day called HBO (Home Boys Only) and He used to write the songs for him and his partner. They would do shows and perform and record music often when we were young and I would always get to be back stage to experience that with them. That single handedly made me fall in love wit hip hop. My older brother always wanted me to get down with the group and I was with it but I had a much more solo kinda appeal to music because even then I liked to rap about street shit! So he introduced me to his Manager at the time a lady named Wendy Day and she singed me to a single artist deal to her company which was Lockjaw Management. Things didn’t work out so well with Wendy although she really did a lot of footwork for ya boy but her personal life interfered with our progress. That was cool cause it just ignited my passion for this game and in 1998 I started my own record label titled MuchLuv Records and began that outfit with an up and coming cat that at that time went by KP who is now (Kevin Pistol) and my lil cousin LShaun who is now (LShady) and went on to record a studio album titled “Who Riddin’” Produced by another up and coming artist/Producer named Young Doe. from that moment on I haven’t looked Back.
24HHH:  What inspired you to pursue making music?
Drettie:  I was about 16 or 15 when I got into making music and I was inspired by a good friend of mine Young Doe. When we were young I remember He came to me like “hey I know this Basehead that got a keyboard” Im like oh yeah what he want and he was like just give him something  and we can go over his house and use it as long as we want and that was the jump off to making music.
24HHH:  What artists/producers do you work with? Or rubbed shoulders with?
Drettie: Well in my town there are a few A list producers such as Scorp Diesel, Mo Heat, Dragon E, Boozilla, Young Doe,
jst to name a few but I wanna work wit Scott starch or jazzy pha or somebody whoever think they making hot tracks I want to rock yo shit! Ive done tracks with famous rappers but I probably won’t take that approach anymore from here on out its only about hot producers!
