24: Introduce yourself to our readers and the people out there in the world?

DruFamous:  My name is DruFamous, I’m 26 years old and I’m from Hopkinsville, KY by way of  Woodbridge, VA (2703) that’s what I rep. I’m the CEO of  Grind Time Administration based out of Hawaii and now we’re slowly starting to branch out to places like Alabama, KY, VA, GA, NY, Cali, so be on the look out for my team because we plan to take the world by the waist and power drive it.

24: How long have you been rapping for and doing your thing?

DruFamous: I’ve been rapping since I was in college, what up to my people at Norfolk State, but I’ve been doing this serious since 2006.  I also produce, do graphics, and alongside my partner J.Dot wer are in the process of writing our second movie.

24: What gets DruFamous in the zone and in a good vibe to record a song or write a record?

DruFamous:  My environment has to be right, when I’m around people I vibe wit or when I feel like I’m with my untouchable niggas better take cover.  Sometimes I go months without writing but once I get in that zone I’ll make up for time and record 10-12 songs, that’s just how my brain works I guess.

24: What do you feel separates you from other artist?

DruFamous:  I’m me, I try not to worry about other artists and what they are doing.  Most artists don’t have the drive to do what I do.  I started a label with nothing and I had to make people believe in GTA.  I make my own beats, I do all my graphics, I am my own street team so why compare myself,  I cant!

24: Tell me about the mixtape recently released titled ‘Back to the Future’ I did my research and a lot of folks I have spoken to are really impressed by the quality and content of the tape. Tell me a bit about the music itself and what the process was like.

DruFamous:  Well just some info for the people this mixtape was recorded in Iraq.  Dj Ames, who won this years SEA Award for Best Host, and Dj Chiskillz are the first people to ever put me on a mixtape back in ’06 so I went back to my roots for what I think is the best mixtape I’ve put out as a solo artist.  I put a lot of work and time into this mixtape and I think it shows.  A lot of the songs I couldn’t use because you could hear people shooting or airplanes flying over me in the back ground because in Iraq shit like that is going on at all times. The main thing is I took my time and I tried to make songs that people could relate to and I worked on my craft as as an emcee.

24: If you had to compare you’re style to another rapper’s who would it be?

DruFamous: I think I have my own style I’ve picked up certain things from people like Jay-Z, Big L, Kanye, and I try to make it my own. I ball it all up and whatever comes out is Drufamous.  I think I have what it takes to become one of the greats with the right guidance.

24: Who are some of your inspirations?

DruFamous:  Life, just going threw life everyday gives me that boost.  The ups, the downs, that’s were I get my ideas from I speak from the heart so I speak what I see and live.  Being In Iraq gave me a different outlook on life and it has transformed me info a great emcee.

24: Im aware you started an Independent label back in ’05 called GTA Grind Time Administrations and that you have a few solo artists, producers and models already on board. Can you elaborate on this and let me know what are your goals for this movement?

DruFamous:  Grind Time Administrations started as a group that consisted of me, C-Webb, and J.Dot in Hawaii.  As we started to put out mixtapes and doing shows we slowly started building a big fan base and people started supporting our movement.  I started taking over the mixtape game in Hawaii, VA, and KYJ.Dot started networking with models and writing movies and C-Webb started to get into the business side of things. So when we put everything together it just exploded and we started having people contacting us at least 3 times a week about shows and our clothing line, people wanted us in fashion shows we were asked to open for E40 and Kanye, it was crazy.  Now were just trying to make this GTA thing into a dynasty because we see what we have and we know that it can be bigger then music.  We have a Clothing Line ‘Red Collar Clothing’ a brother label ‘Cornboi Grind’ models ‘Grind Time Divas’ we do movies, parties this list goes on.
