24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are?

Ed Prada: My name is Ed Prada i am a musician from Queens, New York.

24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?

Ed Prada: My older brothers use to do music and were very passionate about it so they were inspiration for me . At age 11 i recorded my first song with them so there on after i kept writing music but growing up with peer pressure , negative influences took my mind of the music until 2 years ago i started recording again and writing more and more to get better and find a sound i can call my own.

24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?

Ed Prada: The Hip-Hop scene for me growing up was real building the respect and level it reached until it branched out and changed. I was also listening to legends like Biggie, Nas, Jay-Z to get a better understanding of true Hip-Hop. But in the process of still growing up music started to branch out and change so being where I’m from it was hard to understand the reasons behind music change.

24: What makes you unique as a artist and different from other rappers out now?

Ed Prada: What makes me unique as an artist in today music is my songwriting ability, my diverse style, and relatable sound. I write music based on real situations and feelings. I write music I hope people can use to help them in everyday life and circumstances their going thru based of my own experiences. What makes me different from other rappers now i tell stories in a lot of my music to give people a vision or idea of what I’m talking about.

24: Tell us about what you are working on?

Ed Prada: I am working on my success mixtape I have put a lot of music out that never got recognized due to my lack of musical popularity so this mixtape is one i am taking my time with and just hoping to introduce me as an artist. I just recently shot a video for my second single called I’ma Tell which is due to be released soon.

24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?
Ed Prada: Producers I have worked with are SkyBluetheBeatMaker who produced Choices. Also I have worked with Sully Beatz who produced I’ma Tell single and a few other songs being recorded for the mixtape. Producers I would like to work with in the future Drake’s producer 40, Timberland, Bangladesh, Ryan Leslie, Kanye West. I would also like a chance to work with new producers in the industry today really doing good.

24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?

Ed Prada: So far I am appreciative and understand the feedback I have been getting. I am grateful for the feedback and turn it all into a positive the best I can to make the people happy the best I can. I consider any fan a motivator and supporter to help me keep making music they can love and enjoy.

24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make yourself a household name?

Ed Prada: I think today you have to just be original and not afraid to be yourself. I feel you have to give the fans, people a reason to want to purchase your music instead of downloading it. I think you have to treat Hip-Hop today like a competition and make music for the people to gravitate to and make others do the same. I feel if you can prove yourself you will be able to fulfill a household name in this music industry.

24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?

Ed Prada: I’m really not a big fan of the Hip-Hop scene today and feel the roots of real Hip-Hop is gone. I support everyone keeping it alive and wish them great success. I don’t feel any way towards any artists in the industry and feel everyone is talented in there own way. There are artist I feel are really bringing back the competitive nature and realness in making good Hip-Hop music even in the state the Hip-Hop scene is today.

24: Outside of the music what else are you currently working on?

Ed Prada: Outside of the music, I just work and cater to my responsibilities. I am working on trying to create a clothing line because of my love for fashion.

24: Where do you see yourself going in 2013 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artists out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?

Ed Prada: Where I see myself going this year is hopefully worldwide recognition. I plan to separate myself from other artists by just being myself, believing in my music, and giving the fans and people a reason to believe in me and understand me as an artist which I feel will help me get the recognition I hope to deserve.
