24: For our readers that may not be
familiar with you and have been sleeping under a rock, please introduce
yourself to everyone?

Glasses Malone: Glasses Malone aka C
Malone or Mr. 1.7, Watts’ hometown hero! I think that just about sums it all up
right there.

24: You have your own label Blu
Division as well as being signed to Hoo Bangin/Cash Money, so tell me how did
that come about?

Glasses Malone:  I consider myself more of a businessman than
a rapper and I had a situation over there at Universal Records. Basically I
started a movement on that Death Row shit and things started happening. Outside
of that the music was right so the numbers had to match up and they did.

24: You have a big single out called
Certified produced by DJ Toomp featuring Akon which is a hell of a good look
but tell me how did that song come together and are you happy with the
responses you’re getting from it?

Glasses Malone: The response has been
wonderful, I can’t complain at all. I was out in Atlanta working with Toomp
getting in and through a mutual friend that’s signed to Kon label was in the
studio with me. An hour later Kon pulls up in the Lambo heard the record that
Toomp and me were making got on the hook and the rest is history.

24: You have a line in your song where
you mention that you were a little upset you did not sign with Jay-Z can you
explain that for a minute?

Glasses Malone: I don’t want to mention
any names, he know who he is offered me 50,000 to sign over at Def Jam because
I guess he felt I wasn’t worth more and I could have my A&R over step him
and take it straight to Jay personally because that’s the type of live nigga he
is. So I ended up just passing on the deal and I said “Woke up a little piss, I
aint sign with Jay/ a mill plus couple of months/feeling fine today”!

24: Will there be a video coming for “Certified”?

Glasses Malone: Yes, Yes, Yes, watch
out for that coming at you real soon.

24: Tell me who are some of your music
influences?

Glasses Malone: You know everybody from
the West Coast the whole N.W.A. circle the whole Death Row circle, Westside
Connection, Jay-Z, Cash Money.

24: What’s next for Glasses Malone and
your label Blu Division?

Glasses Malone: This year right now
were trying to work out a major situation for Quiz, and through my independent
label were going to drop Block Boyz. Got a couple of other things also but I
don’t want to mention it until its final.

24: What do you feel you will bring to
the music world with your debut album?

Glasses Malone: A lot of great albums,
a lot of great music.
