24hourhiphop.com sits down with upcoming rapper HANSUM. He’s on the rise and buzzing in his hometown of Ohio and is ready to make his impact on the music industry! Check out his interview below see what he had to say!
24HHH: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesnt already know who you are?
HANSUM: Im HANSUM , I grew up on the east side of Toledo, Ohio , I started rapping serious about 1 year ago , I got 2 mix tapes on Datpiff & 6 Music videos out in less then 8 months !
24HHH: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into the music business and what inspired you?
HANSUM: All my life i watched my Dad in the studio rapping & making videos & doing everything he did as an artist & he stopped rapping & the studio stuff just sat around so me & my friends started playing around & free styling to industry beats & just kept doing it & one day i found a beat & started writing to it with one of my friends & it sounded alright so i just kept making my own songs & after a year is when i got serious with it , we came up with my name & started getting my songs mixed & mastered & shooting videos & that brings you to today !
24HHH: What was the hip hop scene like for you growing up where your from?
HANSUM: I mean back then the only music i really listened to was the music my dad played in the car back then , Young Jeezy , 50 Cent , Lil Boosie , DMX , I rarely ever listen to the radio , so what i heard and scene was more hood & gangster rap
24HHH: What makes you Unique as a artist and different from other rappers out now?
HANSUM: Im young & I’m always working to be better then everyone else trying to come up , I’m 14 years old i do all my studio work & all i do i stuff with my music . I go to school during the day & as soon as i come home I’m in the studio or promoting myself & trying to be heard in everyday i can , i read up on stuff and do what ever i can to become a better artist . The biggest thing is you have to stay working & in peoples sight , i put out 2 mix tapes & 6 music videos in less than 8 months & I’m going to keep working & working , ill become better & bigger by the day as long as i put my time & effort into it !
24HHH: Tell us about what you are working on?
HANSUM: What I’m working is now is promoting myself & trying to be seen by as many people as possible by advertising , music videos , joining sites , reading on how to promote myself , In the studio & the making music part I’m working on an EP now , all the songs are going to be remixes of industry beats & then after I’m done making that Ill start working on my 3rd mix tape !

24HHH: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?
HANSUM: I worked with tons of producers Johnny Juliano , Beats Planet , Downtown Music , SDotFire , Asain Bangz , So Sprung , i could go on but rarely any of my beats come from the same producers & some producers i would like to work with in the future are , Dj Mustard , Young chop & Mike Will !
24HHH: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?
HANSUM: Yes i really appreciate everyone who supports my music , watches , shares & follows me . But everyone has haters but i dont get mad or upset about them they help me out to its all love.
24HHH: In todays free download age, what do you need to do to make your self a household name?
HANSUM: You need to advertise yourself to be seen but you always have to work & have stuff to put out as in Mixtapes , Music Videos , Posters , Flyers , Joining Big HipHop Sites , but i dont think nothings bigger than Datpiff & YouTube right now , make mix tapes & music videos & just keep promoting yourself & doing whatever to be noticed

24HHH: How do you feel about the current state of the hiphop scene?
HANSUM: Everything’s good , mostly everyone thats main stream & made it deserve there spot , Everyones music is different
24HHH: Outside of the music what else are you currently working on?
HANSUM: I go to a Career Center for school & I’m working on getting a job in the Medical field
24HHH: Where do you see yourself going in 2012 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?
HANSUM: I see myself growing & getting bigger as a person just like everyday , someones always watching . How I separate from other artist is like i said i work lots of artist out these days want something big or something big just to come to them but you have to work for it , always putting stuff out , videos , pictures , statuses , anything to stay in peoples face !
