24: How long have you been singing for?

Jarvis: All my life, my sister was a singer and I can remember going to one of her talent shows and the way that the crowd screamed for her and it looked really fun to be on the stage and from that point on I would sing in church and now you have Jarvis (lol ).

24: With artist such as Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Omarion and Llyod tell all the readers what your bringing to the music world?

Jarvis: Well, I respect those guys for what they are doing and the huge impact all of their music has had on the world. I really want to do some feel good music and music that empowers women of all ages and races. I would really like to get away from what the other guys are doing because i feel they are doing a very good job where they are and i really want to give my fans another way to relate to music.

24: You have a huge single out right now called “Pretty Girl” ft Rock City (signed to Konvict Music), tell me how did that song come about and what the response has been so far?

Jarvis: The Rock City record has had a very big support and we plan on releasing that one all over the world. It was great working with Rock City they are very talented and just to know that I am one of the people who have had the chance to work with them on several records on my album is great. I am blessed for that! However the new version of “Pretty Girl” now has Ludacris on it and people are really taking well to it and right now i just feel great to be in the position that i am currently in.

24: A lot of young R&B artist gets put in a box sometimes but I think your music can really separate for the rest so speak a little more on this subject?

Jarvis: Well, I touched on that subject in a earlier question but I really think it comes down to is every song that i have recorded for this album I have personally said I love this record or I wrote it. Which is going to give the fans 100% Jarvis and not just a voice saying I can sing that song. Thats not me at all. I am really loving what I am doing right now and its really self expression, and I will not allow that to be just R&B records.

24: Tell me about your album and what the fans should expect from it?

Jarvis: Wow, this album has been named by the fans so far to be entitled Dream Girls which is a record that i recorded for the album. The fans can really be ready for a diverse sound and also they can really look forward to a positive album. I am telling women they are sexy, Pretty, Valuable, and so much more but when the fellas go out and buy this album its a manual of what type of girl she should be and how to treat her. So its something out there for everyone. And last but not least this album is not just a R&B album I love pop music so I was able to get some of that in there also.

24: Why are you not signed to a Major Label as yet and speaking of Major labels is there any label that you would want behind you that you feel would take you to the top?

Jarvis: I am actually signed to DTP/DEF JAM so a lot has changed in the past couple months. My first single off my album had the label head on it (“Pretty Girl” ft. Ludacris) and I really felt that was the best choice for who I really wanted to reach which with my music which is everyone.

24: Any other projects your working on that the readers should know about?

Jarvis: I have been doing a lot of features on artist albums, I have some with a few up and coming rappers, also I recorded a record here recently with Chingy and my management (Star Struck Management) have been speaking with a few other well known artist for me to work with as well.

24: What’s the best way for everyone to find out more about you and hear your music, etc?

Jarvis: The best way is to check out my myspace page because everyone is on myspace(lol), ( www. myspace. com/jarvistheartist ) and take a listen also we would love for all of our fans and possibly your readers to call the local radio stations and request the song… that way i can come to their home towns, perform and meet them. The record has been sent out to all stations so now we need every girl who is pretty to call up and request the song.

24: Any Last Words?

Jarvis: Thank you a lot for taking the time out to interview me and much love and success to the entire 24HourHiphop.com!
