24HHH: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are?

Jon Hollywood: I am Jon Hollywood also known as J-WOOD for short also been known to go by Jonny Pot $moker

24HHH: How did you come up with your Producer/Artist name? Tell us about it.

Jon Hollywood:  Jon Hollywood comes from my life. You see I was born in Hollywood, FL at Memorial Hospital on Johnson Street Febuary, 22, 1987. That day my mother and I were blessed to make it out with my mother having complications during her pregnancy which led to an emergency C-Section. I ended up growing up in Hollywood, FL during my childhood and teenage years until 2005 when halfway through my senior year I dropped out and moved to Hollywood, CA to pursue my entertainment career. After a year I moved back going from Hollywood to Hollywood & back to Hollywood birthing the name Jon Hollywood. J-Wood is just the short nickname J(on) (Holly)Wood & Jonny Pot $moker comes from my dedication and love for smoking marijuana and helping others understand the wonders of it. It’s misconstrued in society that a stoner is lazy, well I try to prove that wrong by smoking more than your average stoner and working harder than your average independant artist. I’m just plain motivated period.

24HHH: Where are you from, and what was it like growing up there?

Jon Hollywood: In Hollywood, FL its just like anywhere else in the US it has its bad parts and its good parts. Being just north of Miami was a good thing because I was always close enough to enjoy the city but not have to live there. Also, Miami recently in the last 5 to 10 years has turned into one of the major hip hop hubs. Growing up in Hollywood I had a small circle of friends that to this day I am proud to call some of them my family. We all have wanted my music to blow they are apart of it the movement, the hustle, the ideas, etc. We all work as a team you don’t win championships by yourself. Plus, I want to put on for my city we had a couple artists almost blow that I was excited about like Dirte Red and I believe Wreckonize from Strange Music and the band Mayday is from Hollywood and he’s doing his thing right now with Tech N9ne but I want people to know that Miami isn’t all South Florida has to offer. We have a lot of talent out here. I always believed in repping where you’re from Hollywood’s my City and Miami is my backyard.

24HHH: Who were you raised by? Tell us your family situation. Got any brothers, sisters, or any siblings? Tell us about your childhood, and how it impacted your music?

Jon Hollywood: Fortunately I was raised by both my parents along with my grandfather who was my only grandparent and was more like my father than my father. My father passed away 5 years ago along with my grandfather who passed 14 years ago. My mother is my ROCK. She was the only member of my family who has always believed in me, even in my sporadic change to drop out of school and move to LA. She always wanted me to chase my dreams and at times had to play mother and father because my father was a work-a-holic. He loved making money and I think thats an inherited gene because I damn sure do too. My mother has recently been diagnosed with CVID (Common Variable Immune Deficiency) where a third of her immune system has shut down and she has to take white blood cell infusions weekly. I want to make it for her. I have a younger sister and an older brother and sister on my dad’s side. Besides my mom and younger sister the rest of the family pretty much considers me a screw up. I been chasing a career in entertainment since the age of 4 acting in commercials and doing theatre, which eventually led to my passion in music. I just love to entertain I love to feel the heat of the spotlight when I hit the stage.

24HHH: What age did you start making music?

Jon Hollywood: I always wanted to sing the only problem was I couldn’t sing for shit. I started in a Rock band in 8th grade as the lead singer that went no where, we fought more than we made music. I started making hip hop music my freshman year of high school when I met the Engineer I still use to this day my good friend Mark Hull also known as “Nine Lyvz”. He is actually the dude who taught me how to write bars and structure my lyrics that were all over the place when I first went at it. I look back at that stuff and laugh because I have come so far since then.

24HHH: What inspired you to pursue making music?

Jon Hollywood: Like I said earlier I’m an entertainer and writing music is my outlet. I believe the goal in life is to make a living off what you love doing so thats why everything else that brings me a check is temporary. I don’t have a fallback plan because I believe fallback plans just make you fall back and get comfortable. I have a 50 cent mentality get rich or die trying.

24HHH: What artists/producers do you work with? Or rubbed shoulders with?

Jon Hollywood: I really just want to work with anyone and everyone I love making music and my taste in music is extremely diverse. I would really love to rub elbows with Jay-Z I love where his mind is at. His career is like a fine wine, it’s gotten better with age. I mean it’s something to be so successful at his age in the game but thats why he’s the man. I definitely want to work with and smoke with the heavy smokers of the game, Wiz, Snoop, Curren$y, etc. I already opened up for Devin the Dude in Denver and we had a killer smoke sesh backstage before he killed his set. I want to jump into other genres as well and not be constricted to only rap music. I mean thats why I love Hip Hop in the first place it’s a genre birthed from every genre of music.

24HHH: What else you got coming out? New Album? or Mixtape/EP?

Jon Hollywood: I Dropped “Weed Money” May 1st on audiomack.com. I’m currently working on a couple of projects but dont really have titles set in stone. I’ll be releasing 2 more video singles from my last project on WorldstarHipHop.com. “Power Moves” and “Get A Life” with the already released single “Sex, Drugs & Fat Tonez”.

24HHH: Tell us about your newest single “Sex, Drugs & Fat Tonez”, how did you come up with that, share us the story?

Jon Hollywood: Alot of the music is simple nowadays and I feel like sometimes it has to be simple to get the message across. “Sex, Drugs, & Fat Tonez” is about a day in my life with the things I love to do. The video is set in my bedroom with trippy blacklight posters and me sitting at the foot of my bed. The topless girl in body paint is supposed to represent my high going up and down with the music. I feel like the video compliments the song very well the director Andrew Colton did a hell of a job.

24HHH: Any new travel plans, what you got going on?

Jon Hollywood: I’m actually in the works of trying to get a college tour put together with a couple of local artists down here in south florida. In the meanwhile I try to get out of state anytime I get a chance I was just out promoting at the Cannabis Cup in Denver on 4/20 this year and last year and was on a clip in the High Times Video and on CNN in Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s “Weed”. Next year I plan to follow the “Cannabis Cup” tour with the Jonny Pot $moker project I’m working on, perform & promote in every city. You can’t really blow up without getting out of your hometown, you gotta spread your wings to fly.

24HHH: What is the biggest thing to happen in your career?

Jon Hollywood: Opening up for Tech N9Ne and the entire Hostile TakeOver Tour in 2012. I have opened for a lot of acts but Tech N9ne is that dude! He works hard and earns every dollar. I have nothing but respect for the man, another guy thats been doing it for 20+ years and he still has the energy he started with when he hits the stage. Thats why he has the cult following he has.

24HHH: Where can people find you?

Jon Hollywood: www.JonHollywood.com FOLLOW ME ON: Twitter: @Jhollywood954 Instagram: @Jwood954

24HHH: Where do you see yourself going in 2014 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?

Jon Hollywood: I plan on making a big impact in 2014 with the knowledge I’ve obtained so far and I plan to stand out by being me. Can’t nobody be me but me.

24HHH: Any last words or shout outs?

Jon Hollywood:  Shoutout to the Ship The Loot family, my moms and family at home and shoutout to everyone supporting the movement we’re getting stronger everyday.
