24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.
Juss Ron: Juss Ron, which is short for Just Byron
24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into music and what inspired you?
Juss Ron: I’ve been into music since a very young age, but I recently evolved into my own style and how to express the content that I want to deliver with my music.
24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?
Juss Ron: Growing up in the Austin area, I grew up listening to everything from the mainstream lyricists to the Texas indie artists that molded the Hip-Hop culture for a long period of time.
24: What makes you Unique as a artist and different from other rappers out now?
Juss Ron: Willing and able to stay in my own lane and not conform so much to what the most popular artist is doing, but still being able to stay marketable. Also the content and the subject matter still stems from personal experiences in the past and present.
24: Tell us about what you are working on.
Juss Ron: Right now, I just released ‘Not Juss A Mixtape’ on DatPiff and the visual for ‘Stars Fall To.’ You can look forward to the follow up within the next year.
24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?
Juss Ron: This project I worked with Sam Wiz on majority of the mixtape, but in the future I’m willing to work with anyone it’s all about the music, not the name when it comes to production.
24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?
Juss Ron: Yeah, I’ve just released it so it’s still gaining momentum, but the reaction thus far has been great and I’m sure with the next releases everything will progress even more.
24: In today’s free download age, what do you need that you don’t to make yourself a household name?
Juss Ron: Just release quality music and set yourself apart from what everyone else is doing. You basically have to not be afraid to standout to even create a name for yourself with the Hip-Hop industry being so over-saturated.
24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?
Juss Ron: It’s okay, just right now it seems like the major indie artists are shaping the industry, it’s just time for new breed of artists who are able to paint a picture from a different point of view so everything won’t seem so cliche to give the people something fresh to listen to.
24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?
Juss Ron: Right now, I’m just focused on music and living life with a fresh start and a brand. I’m trying to build by pushing the envelope with my subject matter, it’s nearly a full time job.
24: Where do you see yourself going in 2011 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artists out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?
Juss Ron: Right now, I’m just focused on pushing the first release, but just keeping god first I’m 100 percent sure what the future will bring, but I’m for sure that I will have some quality music out there for any followers. But by just being myself, I’m sure I will separate myself from majority of the artist at least in my generation and region.
