24: Why
is Kanary Diamonds that next artist that everyone should look out for?

Kanary:
I’m a breathe of fresh air and an entertainer, not just your average female
rapper. I’m bringing something new to the game, ME! I’m very ambitious, focused,
driven, and I work very hard.

24: Tell
me who are some of your musical influences?

Kanary:
Dr. Dre, Jay -Z, Janet Jakson, Michael Jackson, 2-Pac,Yoyo, Queen Latifah, Nas,
B.I.G, Alicia Keys, and Destiny’s Child just to name a few.

24: A lot
of artist are trying to become successful in this industry but don’t want to
put in the hard work so tell me some of the things you have been working on?

Kanary: I
just had some music placed in Kimora Lee Simmons new show. I’ve also recently
licensed music to The Bad Girls Club, Kim Kardashian’s new show and The Real
World/Road Rules Extreme Challenge. I also have a song in rotation at L.A.’s
Power 106 called “Hood Stars” with The Hux Fam, so please call in and
request that by calling 818-520-1059. Of course I am still performing
everywhere too! And now I’m the new host a new online magazine called
“Fresh Magazine” where I interview everybody from artists to
jewelers. So if you’re someone that’s making noise and would like to be
interviewed hit me at myspace.com/kanarydiamonds.
I also have a song that is in rotation in England and in the states called
“What You Wanting.” I am so excited about that. Please request it by
sending an email to afternoondelight@colourfulradio.com and by calling 818-520-1059. Other than that
I’m in the studio, writing, working out, or preparing for a performance. It’s a
24/7 grind.

24: Why
do you think it’s been so hard for a female artist lately to get in the
industry and make her presents felt on a major level?

Kanary: I
feel it’s a lack of originality. Female rappers that come out its nothing
different about them either they think they have to be, spit, and look like a
guy or they are way to exposed, sluttish, and just rap about hand bags and sex.
And so that makes it hard for us who aren’t like that because now that’s what
the “industry” expects of a female rapper.

24: If
you had a meeting set up with Dr. Dre, being that your from Watts and I think
that you would fit perfect with his camp, and you could only let him hear 2 of
your songs which would it be and why?

Kanary:
Man! I would play him my song “Lethal” and “Don’t Mean A Thing.”
Lethal because its straight fire produced by Rashad “RUSH” Coles it
has a universal appeal showing I’m a universal artist. I also would play
“DON’T MEAN A THING” because it’s a real song that everyone can
relate to even Dre.

24: Do
you feel any pressure as the 1st Lady of Watts or do you see the pressure as a
good thing?

Kanary: I
look at it as a good thing because when I was growing up I was looking for
somebody like me to represent me in a positive way. I love where I’m from
because it made me who I am and I thank GOD for this position because its a lot
of people like I was with a voice crying to be heard but don’t have an outlet.
So I’m here to show them they can do it if I did it they can and that its
always a way to express other than violence. I’m here for a reason much bigger
than my self and not just for my hood but for everybody.

24: Tell
me about some of the producers you have been working with?

Kanary:
I’ve been working with of course Rashad “Rush” Coles who’s out of Atlanta he is fire, very
dope! I’ve also worked with Donald “XL Robertson, Gorden Campbell, Fred
Wreck, Jelly roll, S Class, Payback, Dem Joints, Dae One, J Doe, and J Classic
who all are hot!

24:
What’s next for Kanary Diamonds?

Kanary:
I’m on a reggaeton compilation called “Puro Fuego” the song is called
“Candy Girly” with Tatyana Ali and myself due to drop in November so
be on the look out for that. I’m also checking out a couple movie scripts right
now that I’m excited about. So next is Kanary Diamonds taking the world by
storm.

24: How
can someone hear more of your music and find out more about you?

Kanary:
you can check me out at myspace.com/kanarydiamonds
or google me Kanary Diamonds!
