24HHH: How did you come up with your Producer/Artist name? Tell us about it.
Kid Glory: The name Glory came about when I was about 12. I was not much of talker as a kid but I felt aneed to express myself anxiously I would walk the streets of Dyckman listening to rap battles and cyphers and I saw it as an outlet from me to express myself through rhyme. I wanted my name to be me I sat down in my room one day writing and it just came to me Glory…
24HHH: Where are you from, and what was it like growing up there?
Kid Glory: I’m from New York City (Uptown) some people would describe it as the Washington Heights, but I’m from Dyckman a little further up 196 Street and Broadway Ellwood Street. Same place where Fabolous says “I was at the La Marina all summer” HAHA. Growing up on Dyckman you had to be tough where drug dealing came early for the young man to make a few dollars. Competition who got the most who’s realer than who warring with different blocks in the neighborhood.
24HHH: Who were you raised by? Tell us your family situation. Got any brothers, sisters, or any siblings? Tell us about your childhood, and how it impacted your music?
Kid Glory: I had both my moms and pops in the household when I was young but they separated when I was 12. I also grew up in the crib with an older brother and sister though my father was different from there’s my pops raised them like they were his own. I was a ball player I balled in every basketball tournament within the tri state from Orlando to Atlanta I played AAU (Armature Athletic Union play) as a teenager. Coming out of JR High School I got a basketball scholarship to play in one of the top basketball schools in the NYC All Hallows. But I was heavily involved in that street life easy money when my pops left home. Pops was always near but it’s not the same as having him the crib every day. I grew up! The impact it had on my music is self-explanatory when you hear my music.
24HHH: What age did you start making music?
Kid Glory: I wrote my first real song at like 12 recorded 3 versus and a hook. But I always played around free styling sense I was birthed music is my therapy
24HHH: What inspired you to pursue making music?
Kid Glory: What inspired me to purse music was emotion it actually helped me beat fear. Speaking out loud writing exactly what I was feeling it helped keep the stress away. When I first got to high school at All hallows I felt like I was big dog. Ball player getting money I moved to the BX for a while with my pops I found tons of alone time perfecting my craft (music). He wasn’t there most of the time when I lived there plus I was going back and forth from Dyckman but when we did sit he taught me great life lessons. My pops is a poet so I watched him a lot. There were talent shows in high school and the response I got was unbelievable to I kept on pushing. Now I’m here.
24HHH: What artists/producers do you work with? Or rubbed shoulders with?
Kid Glory: I worked with Jack Knight (Bad Boy song writer) Statz (Producer) Oveous (Def Jam Poetry artist) Audubon (Washington Heights show MTV) Uptown Frankie P (producer) Frado (producer) Karen Rodriguez (Song writer/ singer) LS (Producer) Dubwork (rapper) Fred Focus (Video Director) LesDavis (Looney Bin Films video Director) I could go on I worked with a bunch a dope talent that I respect myself I feel blessed.

Kid Glory: One of the latest singles that has been getting tons of recognition has been “No Sleep” feat Audubon heavy in the club right now. Audubon is another Uptown kid like myself very talented I had been just looking for dope people to work with and he was one of them. I had no idea he was in a show on MTV called Washington Heights) I just thought the kid was talented and I wanted to work. He said “yeah man definitely, I know who you are and I respect your work” and before you know we banged out “No Sleep” produced by Statz. We performed at the La Marina last summer and killed it so that song has been the most successful so far. All the other music on the album still new to the world so let’s see.
24HHH: Any new travel plans, what you got going on?
Kid Glory: On the road now performing I feel like this album anybody don’t matter age nor race “I was blessed with a gift to reach all ages, same story different pages feel we all neighbors when something is missing we try to fill spaces” a bar off my testimony song on the Uptown State Of Mind
24HHH: What is the biggest thing to happen in your career?
Kid Glory: This is the biggest thing to happen to my career I’ve performed a lot in my music career on big stages without even having an album out. But this album was made for the people by me. This album is my career. Can it improve definitely but as of right now I want this album to be heard.

Kid Glory: I see myself on tour with rapping in front of crowds who appreciate honesty and dope ass music. If you about that Uptown State Of Mind is for you. I feel like the game has lost dignity and honesty it’s more about the pay check than the art. Of course I would love to cash in doing this but you gotta respect the art of it man.
