24HHH: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are?

King Khan & Lottah Chops: Combining world class Dancehall & HipHop fused with Pop & R&B we are King Khan & Lottah Chops "MadeInCGY"

24HHH: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into music and what inspired you?

 

King Khan & Lottah Chops: We both discovered music at separate times in life and for different reasons but ironically the source of our aspirations to become artists were linked by one common thread. A CGY HipHop pioneer by the name "Chain Reaction".It was his love for HipHop and drive as an artist that became a catalyst for an entire generation of artists and HipHop fans where we are from. Now given a voice, we both draw our inspiration from our multi cultural back ground, our personal experiences and dreams.

24HHH: What was the hip hop scene like for you growing up where your from?
 

 

King Khan & Lottah Chops: Known mostly for underground HipHop artists, Calgary was often over looked do to the lack of support for the HipHop scene growing up. But within the last five years our city has really began to produce a solid HipHop scene.

24HHH: What makes you unique as an artist and different from other rappers out now?
 

 

King Khan & Lottah Chops: We are both creative and original artists in our own way but combined our passion & music Speaks volumes in its self.

 
24HHH: Tell us about what you are working on?
 

 

King Khan & Lottah Chops: We just released our mixtape "MadeInCGY vol.1" available @datpiff, and this winter we will be focusing on our live performances as well as recording our solo EP Projects in preparation for spring releases.

 
24HHH: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?
 

 

King Khan & Lottah Chops: We have worked with various producers in our home town and throughout Canada on an indie level but as far as major producers go we are yet to collaborate with any.

24HHH:  In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make yourself a household name?
 

 

King Khan & Lottah Chops: Hard-work/dedication mixed with a little bit of shock value, talent & innovation are key. Like anything worth having you gotta sacrifice to gain.

 
24HHH: How do you feel about the current state of the hip hop scene?

 

 

King Khan & Lottah Chops: HipHop is the new rock&roll it doesn't matter what culture your from, now everybody speaks the same language. We both have passion for old school vibes, the west coast/east cost era & both  agree that HipHop will forever be an evolving art form. Hate it or love it , you gotta respect it.

 

24HHH: Outside of the music what else are you currently working on?
 

 

King Khan & Lottah Chops: Paying bills n whipping meals. Just another day in the jungle #familyfirst

 

24HHH: Where do you see yourself going in 2014 and how do you plan To separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?

 

 

 

King Khan & Lottah Chops: 2014 Looks to be a great year for MadeInCGY. We both have solo projects due in the spring and hope to be touring by summer. We feel quality & consistency of our music will continue to separate us from the rest. To us music and the business of music are two different things.
