24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.

Lomeezy: We are 1UP ENT. Kohle & Lomeezy the Kid from Park Hill Denver, Colorado

24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?

Kohle: We bros, Lo my big bro and I’m the lil bro, so you can say he got into me rapping since I was younger. When I was like thirteen we would just sit in the basement, find beats on the internet and would do freestyles on this lil mp3 player I had with a mic built in in it, and we just been getting better ever since. It started out as shit we would do for fun and most importantly it still is.

24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?

Lomeezy: Nonexistent, I mean there’s people that’s been doing they thing locally but to this point there’s been no real breakout artists, there’s no people searching for talent here, or a real strong supportive culture, they don’t even play locals heavy in the clubs or on the radio.

Kohle: But there is a lot of creative talent here that goes unnoticed obviously.

24:What makes you Unique as an artist and different from other rappers out now?

Kohle: Just the fact that we come from a part of the map that nobody’s made it from, not even just Denver, there’s a whole region we represent that don’t have a voice.

Lomeezy: We’re trendsetters first. Just as far as our sound go it’s a mash up of a lot, we grew up on a lot of different music and not just one genre of hip-hop or whatever and you can hear that in the music. We’re both versatile artists that can rap about anything and could get off on any type of beat if we feelin it.

24: Tell us about what you are working on.

Kohle: Expanding the brand. We always working whether it be passin out CDs, in the studio, attending functions, live performances, on that internet grind, just doing whatever it takes.

Lomeezy: We just working on building a solid foundation. Just getting the team right and getting the right people behind us so we can get to where we know we can go.

24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?

Kohle: Shout out to all the producers who helped make our first project 1UP4EVER. Golden Grams Productions, Skate Bravo, Blind Entertainment, Alim Mo, Dj Tank & Jay K, Epik the Dawn, Flash Beats… I don’t think I left nobody out.

Lomeezy: But yeah, we have this convo all the time, Pharrell, Kanye, Southside, Lex Luger, Bangladesh, Ryan Leslie, Mike Will Made It, The Dream, DJ Spinz, DJ Toomp and Knucklehead just to name a few. But we’re really interested in working with almost anyone that would want to work with us. So feel free to hit up 1upgang.ent@gmail.com

Kohle: I really like Daft Punk.

24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?

Kohle: Hell yeah, it means a lot to me when someone I passed a cd out to will see me in public come up to me and tell me that shit goes, or when someone takes the time out to download or post a comment on my music. We be getting love in the city and online.

Lomeezy: Yeah, all the support we get is a blessing but we nowhere near the level we want to be at. Right now our challenge is trying to transcend being a local success and becoming a national one. We got love for the game but who don’t want they’re voice heard and to have some success with the craft they put so much into.

24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make yourself a household name?

Kohle: Release quality material every time; treat my latest track like it’s the first one I ever recorded. Anybody can make a lot shitty music at once it’s not hard at all. But when you can make great music every time and stay consistent that’s when you on another level.

Lomeezy: People also want to know everything about an artist nowadays, so it’s best to just stay busy and stay in constant contact with the people that support you. Make sure you hook the fans up and take care of your fans like they take care of you, and keep them cameras rollin cuz interesting shit be happening.

24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?

Kohle: I feel like my generation taking it over it’s already about what WE want to do. People can say what they want about our generation but we bringing a lot of originality back and creating new shit in our own way whether people like it or not.

24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on.

Kohle: The movement is what’s most important. We’re always thinking of ideas and being innovative and savvy as possible. We’re currently developing this 1UP ideology and lifestyle.

24: Where do you see yourself going in 2012 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?

Kohle: Well, I wish I had crystal ball, I could see the future in… But on some real shit we don’t really know what the future holds for us, we just guna stay focused and keep grinding that’s all you can do.

Lomeezy: Go hard or go home.

24: How can fans go about contacting you?

Kohle: This sounds hella corny, but follow us on twitter @1up2theWorld & @LomeezytheKid www.1UPENT.com. Search for us on Google we really out here.
