24hourhiphop.com's Next In Line comes from rapper Les from Ohio. Les talks to us about what hes got going on in the music game. He also gives us some insight on his backround and where he grew up. Les tells us about his upcoming and current projects. Make sure to check out the interview below and let us know what you think!
24HHH: Introduce yourself to everyone who doesn't already know who you are?
Les: My name is Les, I was born in New York, raised in Columbus OH. I am a all around musician but rap is my instrument.
24HHH: Before we get into your music, can you describe how you got into music and what inspired you ?
Les: My mother is originally from Ghana, so growing up I was always surrounded by her native music that was constantly in the household. One day she took me to my God fathers house in the Bronx and my God brothers were watching Music Videos on MTV, I still remember till this day the first video I saw, Hypnotize by Notorious B.I.G. Watching him and Puffy in the drop top speeding backwards and rapping just seem like the coolest thing on earth at the time. From then on I would write rhymes and recite them to my self in the mirror like I was in a music video.
24HHH: What was the HipHop scene like for you growing up where you are from?
Les: There is definitely a variety of music respected where I'm from. Columbus OH is located in the Midwest, and in my opinion receives the best of both worlds musically. I have some east coast influences as well as down south influences. Dipset as whole, Fabolous, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Drake, Kanye, Hov, Ross the list can go on and on.
24HHH: What's makes you unique as an artist and different from other rappers out now?
Les: I like to think that almost everything I do as a artist makes me unique. I'm very big on being myself, when something becomes the "it thing" I like to stay away from it. I've always wanted people to know me for what I created, not for what I made look good. I have my own sound and style that i'm bringing to the game by mixing my Columbus upbringing with my NY state of mind. I tell real stories about my life or life in general with my music, something that everyday people can relate to. I actually paint pictures with my verses unlike other rappers who just happen to rhyme on beat.
24HHH: Tell me about what you are working on?
Les: Right now I am working on my first Official Mixtape GiftXCurse which will be dropping in 2014. While in the process of finishing my mixtape, I am building a wider fan base by providing people with a new music video every month.

24HHH: What producer have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?
Les: As of now, I only get beats from my official producer StacksOfMillion. He produced majority of the beats on my upcoming tape GiftXCurse and is the man behind the L.A.B record. In the near future I would like to work with numerous producers such as Kanye, 40, Harry Fraud, Just Blaze, Sledgren and many more.
24HHH: Are you happy with the feedback your are getting from the people on the material you released?
Les: Majority of people that take time to listen to my music definitely give great responses. I have been receiving nothing but positive feed back, especially in my city. I have a lot of support from people in my town which has been giving me more motivation to keep going harder. For those people who may dislike a song I apply the constructive criticism to my work if I feel it is necessary.
24HHH: In today's free download age, what would you do to make your self a household name?
Les: There is no way around music being downloaded for free seeing that it can be done by a click of a button. To make myself a household name I plan on making people fall in love with the real me. People want someone they can relate to rather then someone they can just listen to, by staying true to who I am in my music and life in general, I can accomplish that. As long as people are listening and happy, I'm happy.
24HHH: How do you feel about the current HipHop scene?
Les: I actually like how the hip hop scene is becoming. Lyrics are coming back to play and artist are now adding substance to their music, HipHop is slowly coming to its roots. I believe the only missing piece to the puzzle is me. First opportunity given to shine I going to make history, not only with HipHop but music as a whole, mark my words.

24HHH: Outside of the music what else are you working on?
Les: Right now I'm writing a movie script to go along with my GiftXCurse Mixtape. My music videos will tell my story through short films. Stay tuned for that!
24HHH: Where do you see your self in 2014 and how do you plan to deprecate yourself from artist out today to get the recognition you deserve?
Les: Like I said I'm big on being myself, so everything I do in general will separate me from any artist whether new, current or old. I plan to keep crashing the Internet with dope videos and more hits, and eventually I know my time to shine will come.
