24: Introduce yourself to everyone who doesn’t already know you.

Lu Peez: Yo, this is Lu Peez, recording artist from West Pittsburg, CA. The Bay Area

24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history, and how you got into the music and what inspired you?

Lu Peez: I picked up a E-40 & Too Short tape. The song was called ‘Players Ball’ and from there it was on. That whole, late 90’s era in Hip-Hop really did it for me.

24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where your from?

Lu Peez: MOB-FIGAZ, Hands down! AP.9 tha Jacka, Husalah, Rhydah J, and Fed X was easily my biggest inspiration because they showed that you could be successful with this rap music and be from a small town like Pittsburg.

24: What makes you unique as a artist and different from other rappers that are out now?

Lu Peez: My music is the voice of the streets of where I’m from, Pittsburg, CA. I don’t allow outside influences to dictate what type of music I make. I represent the struggle and anyone trying to make it outta the hood.

24: Tell us about what you are working on.

Lu Peez: Finishing up my first studio album..It’s called “4 THE HOOD.” Should be out by 4/20/2012. Make sure you all go out and cop that!!

24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?

Lu Peez: I have worked with Scandal, Maki, 500 and The Wolf. All Bay Area producers. As far as who I would like to work with, well I wanna work with the ones who wanna work with me.

24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?

Lu Peez: Extremely. It’s been great, all the positive feedback on the music I’ve received. Very happy with it!

24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make yourself a household name?

Lu Peez: I got to stay original. I believe if you stay true to who you are, and always be yourself, people will except you if you make good music.

24: How do you feel about the current state of Hip-Hop?

Lu Peez: I think it’s thriving like never before. There are a lot of artists out there making good music and that’s what Hip-Hop needs.

24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?

Lu Peez: Right now, I’m working on building my brand. Getting more brand recognition through networking and expanding my team.

24: Where do you see yourself going in 2012 and how do you plan to separate yourself for the artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?

Lu Peez: Well, it’s my work ethic and my team that will help separate me from others. As far as 2012, I will be promoting my album, doing shows, features.. all that. Really being active in the Bay Area music scene.
