24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.
Maine Montana: My name is Maine Montana, I am a Hip-Hop Artist residing in Detroit Michigan.
24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?
Maine Montana: Music was always around me from Jazz, Hip-Hop, R & B, Classic, etc. But I was inspired by 2Pac. His lyrics were strong, work-a-holic and didn’t care what anyone thought of him; which means he didn’t change as his fame increased.
24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?
Maine Montana: It was diverse, a big melting pot of versatile music. We had East Coast Rapping, Down South, West Coast, Etc.
24: What makes you Unique as a artist and different from other rappers out now?
Maine Montana: Nowadays many Artist put out music they think people want ot hear and/or copy the people selling at that time. The lyrics that flow thru my lips and on the pad are all true stories and
no sugar coating. I write songs that real people go thru, what I went thru in my life and my life experiences.
24: Tell us about what you are working on.
Maine Montana: Currently, just released my latest mixtape 1,000 Grams 2: Welcome to Medellin Hosted by DJ CapCom. Hosted Tawag Promotions Presents “Built on Hate” Vol. 20, currently working on my next single and the video for it. In the next couple of weeks will be working on my campaign for my last mixtape before I drop my first Album. 24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future
Maine Montana: I have worked with Southside, Infamouz Beats, B Monstah, Kajmir, Olympics. I would love to work with Lex Luger, Dr. Dre & Timberland.
24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?
Maine Montana: Yes I am happy with the current and past feedback, it allows me to fix my flaws and know what the audience want to hear. It also allow me to test out the different materials I put out.
24: In today’s free download age, what do you need that you don’t to make yourself a household name?
Maine Montana: It really takes having a good team and putting out consist work whether its new music, interviews, videos, compilations, etc.
24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?
Maine Montana: The current scene is confused, but not to sound cocky, I am just worried about me. I am sure the others are not worried about me and what I am doing until they see me in the headlines.
24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?
Maine Montana: I have been filming a documentary and talking with my Designers and fashion team about a upcoming clothing line. In addition working on finalizing creation of my record label so that I can release all my music it.
24: Where do you see yourself going in 2012 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?
Maine Montana: In 2012, the public will see more of Maine Montana. They will see more consistency with my work and implementing more videos to the promotions. In addition will be adding new members to my team to help with the awareness and brand of it.
