24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.
Makaveli X: What up 24hourhiphop, it’s Makaveli X for those who didn’t know I’m a rapper from Edo state, Nigeria born in Canada if you didn’t know, now you do. I’m 20 years young and on my solo ish.
24:Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?
Makaveli X: How I got into this music was by listening to real Hip-Hop artists like Ice Cube, Eazy E, 2Pac and the OutLawz, Snoop dogg, all of NWA, Mack 10, WC, Big Pun, Fat Joe, 50 cent, Shyne, Wu-Tang, Big Daddy Kane, Eric B, LL Cool J, Ice T, Bone Thugz, Rakim, Cam’ron (Dipset), and the list goes on. Who inspired me to rap the most in the game, I would have to say 2Pac and the Outlawz, Snoop and all of NWA.
24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where your from?
Makaveli X: The Hip-Hop scene where I’m from is a big thing that’s constantly growing.
24: What makes you Unique as a artist and different from other rappers out now?
Makaveli X: what makes me unique right now is my flow style. I’m real old school, you would think I was born in the 70’s or 80’s. My lyrics are very historical, I like to teach as I rap cause rappers should be teachers not misleading.
24: Tell us about what you are working on.
Makaveli X: What I’m working on right now is a mix tape coming soon and some other business projects.
24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?
Makaveli X: The producers I have worked with are Tiger and Ill Tactix. The producers I would like to work with are Ice Cube, Boi 1da, 40/40, Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, Just Blaze, Cool & Dre, and whoever else is feeling my art.
24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?
Makaveli X: The feedback I have been getting on my work has been very inspiring and has made me want to continue in this career.
24: In today’s free download age, what do you need that you don’t to make yourself a household name To make yourself a house hold name in today’s industry?
Makaveli X: What I don’t have in today’s free download age is a complete mix tape yet, which is coming soon, but I rather just get an album done to get a household name.
24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?
Makaveli X: I feel the currant state of Hip-Hop is at it’s all time high and is very versatile. I feel it’s slacking the real side of it, but I have to give it up to Lupe Fiasco for speaking on areas that could possibly get him killed or shut down by the industry, now that’s real.
24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?
Makaveli X: Outside the music, I’m working on keeping my family together and our mind and soul right with God.
24: Where do you see yourself going in 2012 and how do you plan to separate yourself?
Makaveli X: Only God knows what’s coming to me in the following years to come. To separate myself from the other artists out today to get the recognition I feel I deserve is to keep doing me.
