Masspike Miles: Can’t complain, GOD is good

24: So I know you have been in the game for quite a while now. Tell our readers out there that might not be familiar with you a little bit more about yourself and how you got into this game?

Masspike Miles: First and foremost, I was born into music. My pops was in the game. At age 11 I got signed to Warner Bros Records as a member of the group “Perfect Gentlemen” and after that I moved into production. I was signed to the Source Magazine as an artist by Benzino and Dave Mays. I then started getting into production and became a “Boss”. I started my own record label “Life 4 Life”. Got my artist Smoke Bulga & business partner signed to Sony and I featured on his album. He is the truth, and I’m looking forward to his next project with Life 4 Life..

24: I got to hear the new mix tape “The Pursuit” in my opinion it’s a classic. Break it down for me and let me know a little bit about how that came about and what took place on that project.

Masspike Miles: One day I was watching “Pursuit of Happiness” the Will Smith movie.  The passion and desire to win inspired me to make this mixtape. Even though the concept was different the drive and passion was the same. So I felt like basically structuring my mixtapes around that. If I didn’t have the “industry features” records on there it would be a complete album. It has all the features today that make it acceptable as a great album, but due to the fact I’m a new artist, why not give them the best? Like Jeezy “Trap or Die” album.

Besides music what other things is Masspike Miles involved in and currently working on?

Masspike Miles: Besides music, being owner of my own record label Life 4 Life Enterprises, owner of a website, management company and web design company called CAPRISCORP. I own the nationally known DVD “Ghetto Report”. I have my own clothing apparel line named “Russian Republic” that’s somethings I’m working on besides music.

24: You have one of the most soulful voices I’ve heard. Where did you get your style from and what influences do you feel have made you the singer/songwriter that you are today?

Masspike Miles: The streets and my Pops (a jazz musician) I was raised listening to Jazz. I hit the streets and indulged in the 90’s music that influenced the voice the world hears.

What’s up with the executive producing , are you getting into films?
 
Masspike Miles: Executive Producer of Dvd “Ghetto Report”. I got into the film business with my homeboy Lean. Lean basically picked up a camera and started “Ghetto Report” and wanted help in any way I could, I felt like it was a great idea, that lead to me getting into journalism, shooting hood Dvd trained and got me into film.

24: How did the relationship with you and Ross come about?

Masspike Miles: Rick Ross came to Boston, Massachusetts for a show, which is Masspike Miles city and he wanted to make sure he was good in the Bean since he didn’t know too many people. Ross reached out to a well connected mutual friend of ours Shank and he told Ross to halla at me. We linked up and I needed that feature and my “Brown Paper Bag” was right, so we made it happen. from there a great relationship flourished and that lead to a deal with Maybach Music Group/Def Jam.
 
24: If you don’t mind me asking what’s your opinion on this whole 50 cent vs. Ross controversy?
 
Masspike Miles: I don’t have an opinion on Rick Ross/50 Cent situation.

24: So what’s next for Masspike Miles?
