24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.
Maxpayne Shawty: Hi, I’m Maxpayne Shawty Artist/ Producer
24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history, specifically how you got into music and what inspired you?
Maxpayne Shawty: I got into music when I was 5 yrs old my mom use to sing along with my sister`s so me and my little brother learned how to play music so that we could play as they sing along my Grand Pops inspired me to want to play music before I even thought about rapping.
24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?
Maxpayne Shawty: Growing up, I really didn`t listen to Rap, I liked soul music, when I turned around 13/ 14 that`s when the Hip-Hop scene was still their but where I’m from Sardis, GA/ Augusta, GA music from the south was more like a dance or bounce type along with crazy looks and deep bass hard beats. Ti was my #1 artist to listen to always.
24: What makes you unique as an artist and different from other rappers out now?
Maxpayne Shawty: What makes me Unique as an artist is that I Don`t just rap I play a few instruments live, Drums, Bass Guitar, and Piano in my own way and it`s just my style of how I like to do things That Makes me different from other rappers.
24: Tell us about what you are working on.
Maxpayne Shawty: I’m working on my second mixtape, Recession Proof, Pt 2 the first mix tape Recession Proof, Pt1 is out now Hosted by DJ Drama. Once I wrap up the second Mixtape I’ll start putting together my Album. Other than that, I’m just making and mixing beats.
24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make yourself a household name?
Maxpayne Shawty: Be on a lot of blog site`s, do a e blast , make sure press kit is right most part about it is making your internet presence known along with being direct with people in person , DJs Artist, Fans, promoters etc just gotta build good relationships with folks. And have good music with the look of a star.
24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?
Maxpayne Shawty: Yes, I’m happy with the feedback people love good music tha`ts what I do so that they continue to love good music.
24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?
Maxpayne Shawty: I feel like music changed a lot less lyrics more hooks and great Production is what really makes the songs these days and with the computer software makes it a little easy for the young generation of music to have a studio or make a beat, hit record etc. anywhere.
24: Outside of the music what else are you currently working on?
Maxpayne Shawty: Outside of music, I’m not working on anything at the moment I have great idea`s for other things though. I would like to score a movie one day.
24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?
Maxpayne Shawty: I’ve worked with the Producer Omen, Justp, Rick Nyce, GQ beatz and Rakks on the beat Omen is a producer that has worked with artist such as Drake , Ludacris, etc. I would like to work with kayne, Mike Will and any other producers that want to collab on tracks.
24: Where do you see yourself going in 2013 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?
Maxpayne Shawty: I see myself and team doing big things this yr I don`t have to separate myself because I`ll always do what I do best make good music and work hard.
