24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.
MBM: What’s good I’m Air Marley and I’m Rich Thee Flyguy and together we’re the group MBM (My Brotha an Me)
24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?
MBM: Music has always played a role in our lives in every aspect.. We need our music everywhere we go.. On the road , work , gym , when your with a beautiful woman etc. People in our family have always had a love for music especially the rap culture. One day bored in our apartment we had two cd’s full of beats from our cousin, we sat there and listened for a minute. Picked up a pen an pad and we’ve been on this path ever since.
24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?
MBM: Being from the Bay Area as kid’s we grew up listening to a lot of Bay Area rappers (Mac Dre, E-40, Too Short, 3X Krazy, Pac of course, just to name a few) we’ve seen it gone threw it’s changes over the years but it’s has always had a positive impact in the rap game so we’ve always loved it.
24: What makes you Unique as an artist and different from other rappers out now?
MBM: We believe what makes us different from others .. first of all we are brothers, we’re very creative and open minded to new ideas, we each have our own sound, we don’t try to emulate who’s hot, we stay within our own style to standout, and end of the day our music is for everybody.
24: Tell us about what you are working on.
MBM: We are working on several projects right now.. Our group ( MBM ) self titled album “My Brotha & Me” & our solo mixtapes RTF’s “Feel My Aura” & AM’s “Fresh Breath of Air”
24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?
MBM: We’ve worked with Kacey Khaliel & the Cali Boys Club, Hood Noise, Boss of Hardline, Gee No Beats, D-Spitta, Scott the Foo, DJ Tank & Jay K, Ben Rosen
24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?
MBM: Yes the feedback is important.. The Good & the bad , it let’s us know that people are actually taking the time out to listen to the music. That’s only way you get better.
24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make yourself a household name?
MBM: Keep yourself an your music out there.. Stay in the face of the people, networking, goin to events. It’s nothin like the fans being able to reach or see the artist.
24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?
MBM: We think the current state of hip hop is at a all time high because hip-hop is bigger than ever & is growing still as we speak.
24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?
MBM: Working with individuals to expand our brand , working with the out-reach youth in our area ( JR’s North Star 1&2 & TKYF ), and continuing to do what it takes to become a better artist and businessmen.
24: Where do you see yourself going in 2013 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?
MBM: Being ourselves , we’ve seemed to always standout in our lives & we tend to continue with the same attitude an drive.
