24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?
Mr. 704: Always been a fan of various music wit 3 older brothers I was introduced to different styles an my pops always listen to music. What inspired me was feeling like I had a story to tell to many people could relate to and wanting to bring the Carolinas’ through the door.
24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?
Mr. 704: It was a few people making noise in the city, but until the last
10 years the scene just started to develop to say we have an actual Hip-Hop scene.
24: What makes you Unique as a artist and different from other rappers out now?
Mr. 704: I think the tone of my voice and my southern lingo just bring a urge for people to wanna listen along with real life content. What makes me different is I am a Carolina artist and the industry hasn’t had but a couple. I try to paint a realistic picture through my words and speak from the heart to make it believable.
24: Tell us about what you are working on.
Mr. 704: Right now I’m pushing my new single “Fast Cars,” that’s been getting airplay in the whole Southeast. Bout to drop a new mix tape “Ain’t Taking No Losses,” Gotta Stack B4 You Ball Edition” with appearances by: Webbie, Sean P (YoungBloodz), and Pastor Troy.
24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?
Mr. 704: Most of my production comes from Soleternity Productions and Krazy Figz both with major credits on major projects also from Tech N9ne. I would love to work with Drumma Boy, Timberland, Jazze Pha and the list goes on.
24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?
Mr. 704: I’m very happy with the feedback and it’s growing everyday.
24: In today’s free download age, what do you need that you don’t to make yourself a household name?
Mr. 704: You have to stay consistent with good music and relate to the people and be seen.
24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?
Mr. 704: I feel Hip-Hop is bigger than ever right now because it’s everywhere
you look and go, clothing, shoes, sports etc.
24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?
Mr. 704: Putting together my non-profit and just to give back doing whatever is needed from Mr.704
24: Where do you see yourself going in 2012 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?
Mr. 704: Continuing to build my company as a true entertainment company along with branding Mr. 704 and bringing Carolina artists to the Industry. I separate myself by staying consistent and speaking my Carolina Story on a real life level.
