I receive a call with information that I would be interviewing an independent artist who
has just fairly stepped into the game. But with stepping into the 24hourhiphop office at about
6’3 24 year old Michael is the type of person who is determined and ready to touch the lives of many.
Not the average “Goon” you would expect to see from Opa-locka, but that does not stop his ability to
lyrically damage any track. With only putting 2 years of grind in to his love for music we get to
dig a little deeper into the mind of Michael and see what we can expect in the future.
24:For the people who are reading this now and have never heard of you let them know your name
and where your from.
Definitely, Whats going on music world my name is Michael and that’s my artist name. The way I see it is
I can only be the best me possible and where I’m from, I was living and raised in Opa-Locka obviously
Dade county ya know, shout out to Brisco and Flo rida the whole 9 yards. Basically moved on out but if
there’s anywhere I represent if it comes up is Opa-locka and I’d like to say I’m not a goon but I’m still cool.
L.I.G till I D.I.E baby scream at me!!

24:Now from what I understand your just breaking into the industry, how do you feel your experiences to this point now have been developed you as an artist have things changed or have you always had the same goal?
Well as far as the influence of my music that I create now has always been from within. Its actually apart of my
story I was never like this infamous up and coming rapper or artist trying to get my name out there or anything,
I actually shoved music off to the side and it kind of found me. It was like everywhere I turn it would be music
standing right there. Not just hip hop all types of music. As far as any music I create it comes from within.
Like what I want to do right now is bridge that gap between being commercial, because obviously as an up and
coming artist you got to have there ear first. Then you get there hearts and get the charts, and this goes on
and on. I got that from Jay “laughs a little. But I’m trying to bridge that gap between being myself but also creating commercial music. Because you definitely have to get them listening, and I guarantee they wont regret it after that.
24:Now being from Opa locka and music just being around you and using that element to create you, what goals do you have as far as bringing back to your city and accomplish in your career?
That is a great question, ah I would say you don’t have to be the baddest dude on the block or just the roughest toughest guy in the world. You do have to hold your own don’t get me wrong but you don’t have to be all of that in order to be successful. Because honestly I was never that guy, I was a little hard headed before spirituality came into my life, but you know I was never really off the wall there but I was close enough to that world to definitely get some experience from it and kinda understand what its like. Its like I don’t know I just had the common sense to say that wasn’t for me. But I really want them to understand that “Just be yourself”. Once you accept yourself you’ll be surprised to see how much society will accept you. You can be very successful just being you.
24:OK let me ask you about the content of your music. Is it more of an escape for people or is it more based on being more motivational.
That’s a great question and I’ll tell you why, because I’m an extremely emotional person. That’s one of the best ways I can define myself, if I’m happy you’ll definitely know, If I’m sad you’ll know, if I”m hurt you’ll know. I’m a man who wont hesitate to cry if I’m hurt you know, we’re creatures of emotions as human beings and sometimes you have to respect those emotions. The point that I’m getting at is my music doesn’t come from my brain nor even my heart it comes from my soul. So its possible I can have the most uplifting track that makes you just happy to be alive, or I could just have a banger you know sometimes we all don’t want to think. Sometimes we just want to sit down and enjoy some really great music. Or you know I can come on very
emotional deep dark… It just depends on how I’m feeling. I don’t want
to say I’m a specific type of artist. If I feel it best believe I’ll
write about it. If I want to write all day about murder even though its
not me I will write about it and best believe its gonna sound great because that’s what I was feeling at the time.

24:I
feel you that’s what it is, now let me ask. Do you have any performance
or have done any shows? because your just breaking into the game is that something you will look forward towards getting accomplished?

Yes this might arguably be my favorite question because I look at performance as a huge part of music. I mean with all due respect I go to the concerts shows all that the whole 9, I”m the type that buys Cd’s and so forth…I’ve even seen some of my favorite
artists perform or even any artist doing there thing… and I never
knock anyone’s hustle I mean you eating god bless you.. but umm…
I sit back there and it gets kind of frustrating. Like “Damn it!! I
could perform better than that!!”. And I actually came into music going
to the karaoke bars. Not like one no pop pop karaoke. That’s
what people think when they hear “karaoke” but they got the
Jay, Wayne, T.I. you know and so forth. I’d perform a song I know and
like unanimously people approach me like “Dude, I swear to you you’ve performed that song better than the artist performed that song.” So I absolutely love performing. You can feel my spirit when I perform.

24:Who are a few of the artist you’ve been compared to vocally or you feel have had subconsciously been influenced by?
I would definitely say first and foremost… Jay not because he’s Jay if anything because he’s Sean Carter. The individual behind the artist Jay-Z some people over look that so to speak…um mm I was raised listening to Bone Thugs and Harmony I absolutely love them I cant even explain. They were my ghetto physiologists. Bone have no idea how much they’ve helped me. Sometimes these artist don’t realize who listening to there music they really helped me make it through. Eminem, very emotional. Incredible English literature that was always my favorite subject hated math but could be in English all day everyday. That’s why I sometimes talk proper, its just apart of me . But the heaviest influence to zone in on it but, I like Wayne but I wouldn’t say much of an influence. as far as my sound. Probably when I’m on some fly shit I can see a little bit of Wayne. And even Bow Wow I’ve always loved his music. But that’s a broad question.
24:Give
us a little bit of an idea on what the people can expect to see in the
near future? Because your getting fairly new to recording do you feel like your next move might be left field a little bit? Or do you want to go straight commercial?

Well
that’s whats funny about music because you never know what will tag the
people. The first song I’ve ever recorded is called “Victory” honestly
I would say its not structured the way the typical songs are suppose to
be. But its a beautiful sound and people loove that record. Probably
because they can shadow my work so to speak because everything I said
on that record was true. I also have another track called
“Yes Fresh” and people love that one to. You see the progression as an
artist. The response that I’ve received from the track “Victory”

really
surprised me. I think I did that song for me more than anybody the
world just benefited from it . But answering your question. You never
know. I mean I’m creating everything, I have an alternative
track that I’m just having so much fun with right now people could fall
in love with that. That one is called “Run” by the way “Just
let it run” and you never know its all about the people. I create the

24:What is the best way for people to hear your music?
I’m in the process of creating a face book music page because everything is obviously fresh and its happening so fast. But if anyone ever wants to get in touch with my my email is mymicrophonemysoul@Ymail.com
and
if anything I have a profile on face book My name is Michael Myamoto
Half Japanese a little unique. But its all happening so fast.

24:Any shout outs you have to the people who helped you get to this point?
I
don’t want to sound typical but first and foremost the Lord. Anyone can
see I’m very spiritual and I’m kind of want people saying I’m not religious
I’m spiritual. I’m spiritual for a reason the things that I’ve
experienced I would be the biggest idiot to believe that there’s no
higher power working over us. I would definitely say my
brothers I don’t have much family but they definitely held me down.
Music for sure for not giving up on me

just try to imagine an
extremely beautiful male or female that’s just by your side no matter
how many times you’ve turned them down they have been by your
side. No matter how much you put it down or pushed it to the side it
was still there. It has probably been the greatest experience to happen to
me aside from spirituality. Let me shout out my producer Jered I’m
nothing without him. My boy up and coming artist Vigalanty, he was an
extreme
influence in helping me hear the crying melodies of Music’s voice to
get my attention. That’s priceless. Also I’d like to thank everyone at 24hourhiphop Mouse, City and everyone else who made this happen.
