24: Introduce yourself to everyone and let them know where your representing?
Papa Duck: This your boy Papa Duck and I’m representing Belle Glade, Palm Beach County and I’m a Haitian Representative.
24: What do you feel your bringing to the music world and what separates you from other up and coming artist because from what I see so far it’s the grind and that fact that your making big moves as a local artist and doing collaborations that artist signed don’t have?
Papa Duck: I feel like I’m bringing real music from a hood nigga point of view. I talk about shit that niggas are scared to talk about. Stuff like fucking a bitch while her period is about to go off(That’s some real nigga shit)! An what separates me from other artists is that I’m a down to earth nigga. No matter how successful I I get I will never lose site of where I come from I.E.T(Haiti).
24: How did you link up with P.Diddy and end up performing at an elite club such as Mansion on a night like that which was huge for a new artist coming up in the game?
Papa Duck: Well, I’m hot right now! P.Diddy is a real nigga and a real business man.We had fun on South Beach that night shouts out to my nigga Joey Buttafuoco, Bigga Rankin and Big Spenda Records.
24: Who were some of your musical influences?
Papa Duck: Russel Simmons, Ice cube, Jay-z, Puffy, 50cent,Snoop Dogg, and Dr.Dre. If you noticed the people that influenced me are people that used the rap game as a door opener. There’s a difference between an artist and a businessman and I’m a businessman.
24: Tell about some the projects your currently working on?
Papa Duck: Me and producer CP Hollywood are working on a album together. Lost Child and Deebo are two of my artist on my label Lil Rock Dog Records. I just put out a project called PapaDuck presents Lil Rock Dogs “The Album” which is out in the streets now. My clothing line titled “MamaDuck” Clothing Apparel and the MamaDuck perfume as well. My Dvd titled the “Duckumentary“. Not to mention my movie based on my hit record “Fuck Boy” is coming out real soon called “Ace Boon Coon” and I Can’t forget my little league football team called the Lil Rock Dogs.
24: Who are some of the producers you have been working with and who would you love to work with in the near future that you think would help bring you to a whole different level?
Papa Duck: I also produce so a lot of my records are produced by myself. I have been working with J-Von, Drummer Boy, CP Hollywood, Evil G, Keith the beast, J-Moe, and Palm Beach very own Shife. I would love to work with a nigga like Will.i.am not to mention Lil Wayne and Robin Thicke.
24: At a time when the music industry is at an Up & Down state do you have any plans of signing to a major or just keep building up your buzz at this moment?
Papa Duck: At the end of the day of course I want to sign to a major and a lot of people said I should have been signed. A lot of people think that I’m already signed, but God don’t make mistakes! My time is 2010 now do your research. I’m going too keep building up my street buzz regardless of what because that’s what I do.
24: What should the readers look out for from you in 2010?
Papa Duck: They should look for what they been looking for the last 10 years “That New Sound of the South“. Check my Youtube page, and you will see that I pack the club’s all over the south. From Mississippi, Carolina, Alabama, Georiga, Arkansas, and you already know I run Florida.
